Looking for somebody to rebuild a fence in the Baton Rouge area. Aside from the big players in the fence world does anyone have a recommendation?
[b][i]For anybody interested, I ended up using Highland Fence and they did an amazing job. Tore down the existing fence and hauled it away and rebuilt a new fence in its place. Absolutely wonderful job and only took a few days. Would highly recommend these guys for anyone needing fence work.[/b

Highland Fence a small company in BTR has done some nice rebuilds in my neighborhood using a small local crew. LINK
Harris is pretty big but not as well known. They do good work as well but with Hispanic rather than local crews. LINK
Whomever you use, make it clear that you want better quality lumber bought from a lumberyard rather than a big box. The big companies often warehouse better stock rather than buying whatever happens to be available at the time of the job.

Did you go cedar?
What was the cost?

Did not go cedar because the fence i was removing was more than 20 years old (pressure treated pine) and was still in reasonably good shape. Only replaced because a tree fell and crashed a good portion and wanted to replace it all. Did about 250 linear feet and added an additional gate. price was about 6k.

Can you share the price per foot?

Looks like it was about $24 per foot.

Man, fence prices can vary greatly. I've had 4 quotes to replace our fence (224 linear feet) with an 8 foot cedar fence with 1 gate. Quotes ranged from 15 to 19k. Fence prices are outrageous.

As far a quotes go, that isn't that wide of a spread.

Sounds like you'll soon be getting business cards printed to take advantage of this lucrative and low barrier to entry industry.

I"m saying between the 6k quoted in my reply. I'm sure the fences are quite different, though. And of course i've already gone with the 15k quote.
