Transplant St. Augustine Grass Now?

Getting our drive widened a few feet next week. Will need to remove some healthy St. Augustine. I could use some grass in other areas of the yard.
What are the chances the transplanted grass would survive? Or should I just wait and get a little sod come spring?

I would transplant it.
It's going into dormancy and the roots will likely grow some during the winter.
