Probably on you.

I believe the city responsibility stops at the meter.

That’s the general rule.

You should familiarize yourself with how to turn your water off at the meter, and maybe you should do that when no one is home until you can get a plumber out.

Sounds like it is between house and meter, if so, on you.

I had the same thing. Tree root got it.

Called roto-rooter and he came right out and put a shark bite on it. No problems since.

yep, they fix the meter or before the meter, from the meter connection to your house is all you.

this could be a good thing, since they wont be in there with a backhoe digging up your yard. you can do this job better, and with less disruption and mess to your yard.

water lines are 8-12" deep, so dig it up with shovel, and replace the entire line to your house.

DO NOT EVER TRY TO DO REPAIRS ON OLD WATER LINES, REPLACE IT ALL.

yup. In savannah, property owner's are also responsible for any service line repairs from property boundary to the water meter. Lame.
