Why do companies do this: bathroom accessories

So the wife wants to switch out all the towel racks, toilet paper holders etc…. Why do they have Allen wrench screws? You have to readjust them vs a regular flat head that doesn’t bang against the damn wall.

I hate the last several I have gotten because they don't anchor tight or flat every time. If anyone recommends a brand that does that well, I'm in.

Exactly! There’s got to be another way. I thought this would be a 30 minute commitment while drinking a makers..

I have a set of long, t-handle ball-end allen wrenches or I just cut off the short leg of the included one and chuck it up in my compact cordless drill. As far as anchoring to drywall, toss the crappy anchors they come with and use snap toggles or old school hollow wall anchors.

The ones I have gotten tight I used big arse toggle bolts. But I never remember to get them so I'm fishing through my junk stash for them.

Almost all set screws are hex key. That’s how they’re made. Search fastenel for set screw and find 99% hex drive.
Also easier to find right hex drive than find just the right flat head, especially if it sets below flush.

I tried to add blocking in the wall when the house was built so I'd have something solid to fasten these. Either that or anchor at least one end to a stud and use some sturdy hollow wall anchors at the other end.
