but 8-10 hours of puring rain and 35-50 gusts can't be a good thing for the electrical grid at least.

that Entergy outage grid for NO sucks ball. entire city is red.

been knocking the brews back? I'm not sure what you're saying.

bullshite.

For the last two days I've heard Jay Grimes keep trying to compare this to Katrina, and he's not the only one. I'm over it.

I think you were overblowing what people were actually saying.

go read the posts of Doc and Too Frat and a few others the whole time I said a lot of rain and wind with some power outage would be the worst. looks like thats about what it'll be... but in any case, I'm happy it looks like it won't be too bad for too many people outside of plaq. parish of course.

ha, sorry.

nah. high and dry over here in houston. don't even get off til 6. so no beers.

the work interwebz here sucks, so i try to use my phone and i got in a hurry.

let me try that again:

- No, BR isn't fricked. at least not GHAZI "FUUUCKKED"
- But you're Sperry's, you mentioned before, they are most certainly fricked for gameday.
- BR certainly ins't out of the woods. Hurricane weather, naw. But 35-50mph winds plus an inch of rain an hour for another 8 hours....not ideal for the eletrical grid due to falling trees.

I'm sorry. One guy comparing it to Katrina doesn't make it incredibly overhyped.

I'm not willing to comment on the severity of a storm that hasn't passed yet, but 600,000 customers without power is not the result of a light storm by any means.

that's what I think EVERYONE expected to happen. Just always believed the Katrina and Gustav comparisons were laughable (for the BR/NOLA area anyway)

I don't remember many of doc's posts and I thought too frat was trolling the whole time, so if he was serious then yeah, he's retarded. I just don't remember to many people predicting anything much worse than Gustav, which it doesn't seem like it'll be that bad.

I hope the game is Saturday and not Monday. If it's Saturday, there should still be a breeze in BR off the gulf. If Monday, it's gonna hot, muggy, sticky, and nasty out there.

my parents in Broadmoor still have power too apparently. I call the house every once in a while. as long as the answering machine works, i assume they have power.

Reading Docs posts I thought I would fall asleep during Issac then wake up in a church like the last episode of lost.

You could describe basically any hurricane like that. It doesn't mean it wasn't a devastating storm. I mean, entire neighborhoods are underwater. People are having to be rescued. People have probably died. I don't understand the point of trying to minimize a hurricane. I also don't think this one was "overhyped". Evidently, it wasn't hyped enough for everyone in danger areas to evacuate. Now, they're having to be rescued by other people putting their lives at risk.
