is it a little too late to snag him? i cant help but feel this is the same thing as LF visiting miami for one of his officials. just a kid using a free trip
The same thing could have been said last year with the #1 OT Laremy Tunsil....but out of no where Ole Miss signed him once he showed up on an official....bama was mad

LSU offered Sharpe last month, two weeks after No. 1 overall prospect Cameron Robinson jilted the in-state Tigers for Alabama, a fact that Sharpe is well aware of.
“A lot of schools have been recruiting me from day one, but they waited to come after me until after they lost out on their No. 1 guy, so I did not really like that at the time,” Sharpe said.
Dam
Hopefully, he understands that this is how the recruiting game goes.

Yeah. Apparently, he didn't focus on that too long, if we're actually getting an OV.

The article states that he is looking for early playing time and the 3 programs mentioned above provides that.
If he's good enough to start as a true freshman, then he will have that chance at LSU since L'al Collins is headed to the League.

Pocic is more than capable to handle LT, as is Hawkins.

I would rather see the main recruting of Sharpe done by Miles, Cameron and even Frank Wilsn. Stud is at the absolute best a very mediocre recruiter.

I <3 the rant, stud is the reason multiple players are on the team.

I'd say if he takes an official then we have a shot. May be an outside shot, but anything can happen. Especially if Stud BBQ's for him.

Good news. Not a sure thing but at least we have a shot. I guess if is going to boil down to him having to choose between the promise of a start at UF and the promise to get some playing time at LSU but probably not start. Then he will have to weigh the amount of playing time vs being on a great team vs a struggling team.
Just all depends on how much winning is going to be a priority for him.

I hope he picks the aTm game to visit. That's the only game that could possibly offer some real TS atmosphere left on the schedule.

A guy like that has to think he can come in and compete to start. If he's that good he might be able to whether he picks LSU or Florida

Agreed. But I can see some other schools lying and saying "You will start" when the truth is nobody is given that guarantee.
I truly don't believe that Les would tell a kid that especially when our offensive line is pretty solid. But I can fully imagine and expect that less will give a spiel about even if you don't start you will be in the rotation right out of the gate.

Apparently Florida isn't guaranteeing him a starting spot either from what little I read on 247. So who knows? Not having to compete for the job against an established starter next season might be enough to get him in.

How can UF guarantee a starting tackle spot since both of their OT's are sophomores and are pretty talented. Their LT is DJ Humphries who was one of the best in his class.
Posted on 10/19/13 at 5:33 am to coldhotwings
DJ hasn't played great this year. He's making a lot of mental errors. If he fixes that though which he should with experience and coaching he is definitely a firstround early second round talent IMO so he could be gone next year. That still wouldn't give him a starting position with them though. I'm interested to see how this plays out. 9 5 stars would be nice!!
