so what was the original post that got them riled up? just the bit about him being in BR all week?

bhelmLSU posting on Tigerforums that Lache was spending 6 days here apparently got them riled up. It's on around page 5 or so of the Bunker asking "Who is BhelmLSU".

So LSU's fanbase has NEVER considered Lache a lock???

U werent around last year too much huh

No, it was never close to what your fanbase has acted like. We probably said that we led over Texas for him (probably bc he said that), but we never acted like he was a lock like some of your idiot fanbase did.

I will give you credit though CFB, you are a more sophisticated recruitnik than some of your buddies.

But yet, LSU fans did the same exact thing that Auburn fans are now doing with Lache

Bottom line, if Lache said the same exact words about LSU that he said about Aub last month, LSU fans would be calling him a 10000% lock for LSU and if anybody suggested any differently they'd be ran off the board

No, we wouldn't, not with an out-of-state prospect. Smart people were never like that for Debose, for example.

LOL, i agree, some auburn fans here make me cringe by some of the crazy things some say. Like the one who made the "lache coming to Auburn" thread.

I'm message board savvy and know better than to post such a bumpable thread knowing how recruiting goes

What's funny is that when Lache was in Auburn doing/saying all of those wonderful things about Auburn, LSU fans laughed, said it meant nothing. Said u cant believe stuff from biased Auburn recruiting sites.

Now the tables are turned, Lache is at LSU, the LSU sites are reporting 'positive' stuff, so now he's a lock to LSU.

Huh, actually it proves the AU fans were full of shite and the LSU fans were correct.

it seems to me that AU fans tend to think sometimes that this is an Auburn board..
On an LSU site, LSU fans can be biased.

So you're telling me that there's not a lot of bama fans posting on TD disagreeing with LSU posters?

Exactly. think, then post

I really have no idea where Lache will end up, but with the family ties to South Louisiana (especially Baton Rouge) and the family connections to the LSU progam (present and past), I think LSU will be in the battle until the end. My understanding is that Lache's uncle was a stud at LSU.

Auburn, USC, or Texas may well get Lache, but it will be after a major recruiting war. That is how it should be with the OOS recruits. I expect to have ebbs and flows where different fan bases will think he is leaning to them and then some other program will get a visit and there will be a meltdown for the previous leaders fanbase.

I never said that. I didn't say their weren't ANY Alabama fans like that.
Disagreeing and acting like this is your own board are 2 different things.

Think, then post.

Eh, not so much really but I guess I should try.

Did several LSU fans post that Lache was an LSU lock at different times during the latter half of 08 and early 09? Absolutely they did. Did they have great reasons for doing so? No, not really. Did they have reasonable reasons to do so at that time? Probably. Lache was quoted as saying some very pro-LSU comments and then the relationships with Ford and Reed came out and there was much reason for LSU fans to feel very positive about Lache. Several UT fans also felt and posted that Lache was an LSU lock.

Somewhere along the way (and without rehashing how it came about) Lache became very interested in AU and, like LSU fans before, AU fans had reason to feel very positive. But, this was Lache 2nd "lock" so many reasonable fans start to look at things with a somewhat jaundiced eye when a player starts to switch around. For example, most LSU fans didn't count on Loston signing with LSU until he signed, despite all the very strong indications that he was a "lock."

So, many LSU fans tried to warn AU fans to not get so war damn eagle excited about Lache (yes, you can search my posts and find that exact post) until NSD. Many of those AU fans poo-pooed us and insisted Lache was all AU yet we now see that the worm as turned yet again.

I don't "know" where Lache will commit but he has shown an ability to jump around between LSU and AU (so far) so it was silly for AU fans to tell LSU fans what a lock Lache was because we were his first "lock" and we figured out how it works. Would it be silly to now brag that Lache is (again) an LSU lock? Absolutely. Maybe now both fan groups get it.

That's all I got and really more than I care to post.

You've got one guy from Lache's hometown who desperately wants Lache at LSU so bad he can taste it.

CPA, you talking about me. I have stated before many times that every kid that enters my house has to listen to the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST and the Gospel of LSU. He has been visiting since third grade and if he did not not like it he could have never came back. He seems to like my preaching of both even to this day. The way I see it GOD brought Lache to my house for a purpose. Maybe it is to be a voice of truth and reason or just a rock he can count on. You might say neither but remember I am not one of the Johnny come lately friends called recruiting coaches or new facebook friends. I only point out when coaches lie about themselves or other programs when Lache tells me about his visits or conversations with said coaches. Friends don't let Friends drive drunk and Friends don't let Friends get charmed by snake oil salesman. Some coaches think to highly of themselves. I remember the first rule of Marketing 101 and that is to focus on what it is best that you can offer. Then get that message out and pound it. One college keeps pointing out Family Environment, Great RB's as if they coached them, Teaching kids how to Litter, breaking tons of NCAA rules and by the way never mentioning the head coach is 5-19 as a head coach or the fact that their RB coach Luper has never coached a RB that got drafted by the NFL or that Malz really did not call the plays that got McFadden and Jones all those yards. So the AU recruiting pitch is all smoke and mirrors. CPA, I am sorry your team is down and that a poor coach was hired, but I know what you are going through I lived through the Curly years.

Talk about BOOOOOM!

and FWIW, I'm fairly certain it's a NCAA recruiting violation for Grimes or anyone in his family to talk about a recruit in any public forum.

they are idiots, which leads to your fanbase being idiots. They, like your fanbase, aren't used to covering bigtime recruiting. Our writers and many of our fans, unlike yours, are actually used to following recruits like this. Randle, McKnight, Toliver, Perrilloux, Keiland, etc etc etc

Seriously? Keep it in your pants man. This is recruiting, not Giselle Bundchen, you need to pump the brakes. I don't see how anyone including Auburn fans can get this excited about anything in ****ing July.

Pump the brakes indeed my aubbie friend. It may not be Giselle Bundchen as you astutely observe, but it is "A Tale of Two Cities."

LSU is sitting on 19 verbals in mid July with 9-10 four stars and currently ranked amongst the top 5 teams in recruiting so pardon us if we do not share your reluctance to feel any excitement.

AU on the other hand has 11 verbals yet only 1 four star verbal. Your telling admonishment to AU fans is sage advice indeed.

Maximus, I think this is CPA and I think it is Jeff himself. Great find. We have a coach from AU that just called our coach dumb. Only an employee of Chez would think Chez is the smarter coach. I guess this is what you can expect from the AU coaching staff. They think to highly of themselves and think they are above the NCAA Law by coming on here and talking about a recruit.
