Secondly, Alabama graduates its players better than pretty much anyone else in the SEC
It's not sensitive to want to return to your home to live after a playing career, it's normal. Maybe not there, but Louisianians tend to love their hometowns.
Know what's really silly? You coming on our board. GTFO.

Where in the frick are Red,Memphis and Nacho? We have a dearth of knowledgeable posters right now.

He'll be a home town hero either way, unless he fails miserably when he gets to Bama.

Your loyalty only lies from wins and losses.
You care little about the person.

Not really. West Monroe is a massively LSU town. Luther Davis isn't exactly remembered fondly in WM. Same goes for Joe Mcknight.

I have no idea how you came to this conclusion. I was just pointing out that if he's as successful as his "potential" leads us to believe - then he'll be a hometown hero whenever he returns to Louisiana from his career in the NFL.

Luther was a bust, and JM kinda stuck a dagger into the hearts of the folks in Louisiana as a whole, IIRC. Didn't McKnight "shock the world" with a late decision to go to USC?
I think CRob being an EE will help relieve some of that initial backlash - with no signing day hoopla.

Actually, he won't if he attends Gumpville U.

Then the post from your friend above about you guys caring about the players is kinda moot, right?

We care about LSU players regardless of whether they are big stars or NFL players or whatever. What matters to us is loyalty to LSU.

But if this were the case, you and I wouldn't be any different.
My loyalty only lies from wins and losses (which is silly... some of my favorite players came from our shittiest teams).
Your loyalty only lies on where a player attends college.
So, I guess you could say:
quote:
We both care little about the person.

I guess I didn't do a very good job of conveying the message I was going after.
If CRob goes on to be an NFL hall of famer, I don't think the folks of WM will turn their backs on him just because "he went to bammer".

You honestly think your state will welcome Jameis Winston back with open arms if he beats you in a NC game?

Mr 'I aint going to LSU..I aint going to LSU' McKnight..
USC never sniffed a BCS title after he arrived in LA, got punked by Ore St and Stanford..but LSU players all got a natty title ring in 2007.
That he chose a great communications program and football program school, great, good call. But, that he acted like a smart@ss mocking his own Curtis schoolmates as they chanted for him to go to LSU, or the whole YawYaw/Old Myth/book BS..hopefully the young man learned some grace in retrospect.

Will the state of Alabama welcome Jameis Winston back with open arms if he beats UA for a NC?
