Why not forget about the other guy and welcome the guy who wants to be here anyway?

Hypothetical for you here, Books. You can only have one - Michael or Richardson. Who do you take and why?
Also, does having Ford in the fold already sway your pick in any way?

I suppose fans bickering over which 5 star RB we are going after that has high level of interest in LSU is a good problem to have..
Plus we have Lache wearing LSU T-shirts and appears to be all LSU at this point...another 5 star RB for next year..
I like our situation...don't you? Let the good times roll baby!!!!
Meanwhile I am excited for our current 5 star RB K -dub to have a big year....I love all our backs...
It would be nice to have a RB that gets a lot of National recognition....but for right now,it seems Miles will continue the RB by committee...
Which keeps them all fresh for season's end

Is Richardson so much better than Michael that we are willing to wait on him for however long it takes... even if it means losing Michael?
Isn't he on Richardson's level.
And I know it has nothing to do with ability, but if someone wants to be at LSU, then that really means something to me. Pratt and Ford are 4 star backs, but I'm as excited about them as I would be if they were 5 star simply because of their desire to come to LSU. Michael seems to have the same attitude.

Very true... not to mention being a very good thing for their Draft stock if they are able to run well in the 40. Teams are always worried about RBs that got a lot of carries in the college game (ala AD).

I'm amped about him as well, but I don't think we can assume that he will be here in 2 years. People get hurt all the time. If we've got someone like Michael wanting to come here now, we can't just let him slip away.

If Michael is all that i say take him. The dude really loves LSU it seems and thats what LSU needs. Players that want to come here. We have sufficient RB's now so either of them would be a bonus.
Next year looks promising also, so i say take him.

I haven't seen enough of CM, but it's obvious the staff likes TR a lot more and have from the beginning, so I tend to lean that way. Also, getting TR keeps him from a team LSU plays every year. I don't think it's as big a deal as people make it out to be every day on here b/c of the RBs already committed and w/ how next year sets up well w/ Lache.

True, and I would welcome and be excited about having him at LSU. It just doesn't feel the same (which I realize is ridiculous). He did commit to Bama for one reason or another.

Its just hard to pass on a guy that really wants to be here and is that talented.

Far as I'm concerned, offer Michael today and tell TR, "good luck, pal." With LSU interest finally starting to come to a head across this half of the country, I hate to stifle it by getting a reputation for stringing along 5 star recruits who have obvious interest in being a Tiger.

i think the staff should hold a spot for e.lacy if he can get his grades straight. Michael will be a great back, but i lacy will be better imo.

books, I still think it would be nice to add another talented back or 2 since we have a shot at doing so this year. Also, Keiland could possibly leave school early for the NFL Draft after this season.

I agree. And like I've said, I would give a slight edge to Richardson over Michael in terms of an every-down back. However, I think Michael gives a great change of pace to Ford, and Michael's an excellent pass catcher.
Most of all, I think like a lot of people, we're simply getting attached to the kid's personality (not that he doesn't have the game to back it up). However it plays out it should be interesting.

I really hope Les doesn't mess the Michael situation up and lose out on him by continuing to recruit a guy that is more than likely NOT coming here (Richardon). It reminds me of the Tebow recruitment. Everyone knew Tebow wasn't coming here but Miles kept recruiting him and forced QB Alex Cate to de-commit and in the end we lost both QBs.
Michael is a 5 star back and needs to be given an spot NOW if he wants it instead of pushing him away and hoping a Bama commitment changes his mind.
