Everyone knew Tebow wasn't coming here but Miles kept recruiting him and forced QB Alex Cate to de-commit and in the end we lost both QBs.
Books - say this happens this year, only Michael has "delayed his decision" long enough that ALL of his second choices have tied up their schollies and he winds up at a middle of the conference school where he has second rate blockers, coaches, etc. You don't think that could affect his NFL stock? I think he'd harbor a little bitterness over being strung along. I would.

And I know it has nothing to do with ability, but if someone wants to be at LSU, then that really means something to me. Pratt and Ford are 4 star backs, but I'm as excited about them as I would be if they were 5 star simply because of their desire to come to LSU
I know what you're saying here but just because someone wants to be at LSU and might bleed purple and gold doesn't necessarily mean that they are right for LSU. We can't measure how much someone "wanting to be here" vs. coaches perception of the player's ability and how he fits into the program. And you can't take away the person's ability because, quite frankly, that is the most important part of recruiting.
Having said that, I think it is apparent that Miles perceives attitude as an integral part of recruiting, ala, making studs like Sentimore and Jones prove themselves by hitting the books or finding big talents that come with a "lunch pale" type of attitude. I mean have you read some of Calhouns, Davenports, Fords, Sheppards, etc remarks regarding their playing for LSU as a privallege. Many of these kids remind me of "I play for the name on the side of my helmet; not the one on my back" type of guys. They appear to be top teir guys that have all the "intangibles" to go with it. It really is a remarkable class and CM would be a great addition. He just might not fit into this class.

No. A&M has a spot for him and he has really made some noise lately. He'll find a top tier program. Hopefully, it is here.

What is up with Mack Brown on this kid?
Texas was his favorite in the beginning but Mack never offered Whaley was the number 1 choice they got him and they shut it down they even stopped recruiting T.Richardson I even asked him how he felt he said they told him they were only taking one.

Clean why do you suppose LSU's staff still has TR #1 on their board?
miles liking big backs i'd guess. i could be wrong
just FYI:
Earl Campbell 5-11/232
Trent Richardson 5-11/210
Christine Michael 5-11/202
Eddie Lacy 5-11/200
Michael Ford 5-10/200

this is one of the more intriguing recruiting situations we've encountered in the last few years. i still think he ends up at aggy, but i think our staff obviously still has some interest.

This is absolutely true. All our disagreements about these kids mean nothing when it's all said and done, and we all just have to trust the coaches and know that they have a plan of which some recruits are part of and some aren't.
That being said, the kid seems to be great on and off the field, with a desire to attend LSU. If they are not sure about him for some reason, it better be a damn good one.

I don't think the staff has seen Michael perform in person. However, they have seen Richardson during his spring practices. I think that once the staff sees Michael in these upcoming weeks, the tables will definately turn. I think he is that good. We will see.

Also... we will argue, call each other names, and speculate about this situation until it resolves with us getting one, both, or neither of these players. There will a few days of bitching or praise, then we'll move on to someone else. At the very least, we still have Pratt and Ford coming in, and they're both beasts. Then next year is the year of the Seastrunk. How many teams would love to have the "problems" we have? Ole Miss fans would give up their pastel polos for a problem like this!

It may just be an issue where the LSU coaches made a COMMITMENT to TR and they dont want to go back on their word because of CM blowing up of late.
In a perfect world I am sure we would sign CM. I hope we do.

Am I taking crazy pills? Isn't the dude committed(softly) to Ala.? Don't think thats the same as going back on your word. Its been mentioned on here before, but on a side note, how many think there is a chance Miles eats Saban's lunch on TR? I hope I'm wrong...

Funny how I don't even mention a 4 star athlete who lots of schools would love to have as a number one RB in this class.
We have such problems here at LSU. When will they end?

CLM: alright, son. good luck, see ya on the second saturday of november. :dials cellphone:. christine, you in?
