There are so many 4* guys who "get lost" at LSU.
I think potential recruits see this, see Miles' lack of competence, and see what happened on 1/9/12 and are shying away.

Please. 4* guy "get lost" at every school. You equate a bad month as a fan to Miles' lack of competence. Yeah we lost out on a couple big names this year but I wouldn't bet on recruits shying away in next years class.
We've lost big games and had worse season than going 13-1 with an SEC championship. We still continue to pull in stud classes. There's a lot of sky is falling going on with the fan base right now because of the last month. But I'd be willing to bet LSU's recruiting classes will continue to bring in great players that will compete for championships. It's almost crazy how down fans our own this team and coaching staff who went 13-1, won a championship in the toughest league, and got beat by one of the statistically greatest defenses of all time.
And yes I understand the whole way we lost argument, but recruits will consider more than one game when making decisions. I'm still confident our staff can sell all the positives of this program to these kids

Gotta disagree with you here. Winning an SEC championship, to me, is every bit as immpressive as winning a BCS title. Almost immpossible to get through the schedule LSU did unscathed. I would hang a banner sporting that any day of the week. Never shame in being SEC champ no matter how you finish up.

That is stupid as hell. We went undefeated in the regular season and WON the SEC including the championship game. We beat Alabama in the regular season.
Teams hang division champion banners in the NFL even if they lose to a team they beat in the playoffs.

I cannot think, that these guys are selling "wasted talent" line to LSU recruits. Randle was hardly wasted this year. Shepard, was out for 3 games, came back and was effective. ODB got time as a true freshman and played a role

You can't sell that. We didn't waste any talent last year. We may have wasted it and an opportunity in the national championship but that is on the QB play, and the coaching staff itself, as well as the offensive line.
I don't feel we wasted any talent in 2010 either. Everyone contributed that could.
You guys need to realize that we have been plagued with 4 years of erratic QB play. Look it's not like Alabama is selling a air raid offense either. THey depend on the run and defense just like LSU.

LOL WTF?!? LSU went undefeated in conference play, won the SEC title game and beat BAMA on their home field... how is that not deserving of an SEC title?

LSU does not have a lack of 4 stars in this class. We have a quality class. The difference between the top 20 classes is so tiny it is insignificant.
9 players are listed on Rivals as 4*. They are not counting Jeremy Hill, who is also a 4*. Rivals has LSU ranked 17 because of it.
Scout has LSU ranked 7! Who calls #7 mediocre?
Our class includes lots of position players who will not traditionally be 5*.
Look at the position rank of some of our highest individual position players:
#2 ranked long snapper
#8 ranked outside linebacker
#11 ranked offensive guard
#13 ranked corner back
#14 ranked defensive end
#15 ranked tight end
#22 ranked middle linebacker
#23 ranked cornerback
#24 ranked outside linebacker

Don't waste your time .This thread is not about recruiting. Its only another thread started for rantars to trash Les.The recruiting board has been taken over by the rantards . Maybe after the 22nd it will be back to a recruiting board.

It has been years since LSU has had a hard time filling a recruiting class with highly recruited players. If people don't think the NCG has had anything to do with this they are wrong. Les has lost the team and if they don't have a super season next year the run at the top maybe over. I know I am going to get blasted but I have a friend who never reads the rant and he's story was exactly like most of the rumors on here. Will Blackwell's step mom told them that Will said as long as Miles is the coach he will never support the program. Most of the team was concerned that JJ was not only out but shite faced drunk all week and several players including coach Stud thought Lee should start. Miles told Lee he would not play before the game showing every one he was sticking with his boy. Most of the rumors I have read on here were spot on to what WB's step mom told their office. This is more than smoke it is a fire!!! Also Stud was in a restruant in Alabama named Cajun Steamer I think and the owner is from Louisiana. The owner asked Stud about the game and he said all Les would say is we need the QB with the better feet!!!

Do believe that it is almost time to call in the Chicken to start putting people in their place. As we can all see the Rant has done spilled over to the RB. Alot of us are tired of good threads being highjacked and being turned into who sucks or who is better. It is getting to the point of why even click on these threads to have a meaningful discussion because these same posters show up and destroy it. And by reading these threads I see most posters feel this way.

That's because people cut and pasted the rumors and emailed them to everyone and their mother, including mine who called me with the 'inside info' she'd heard from a 'good' source.
I talked to Big Sam's aunt after the game, and she said everyone loves Miles and that was why he decided to stay, and that anyone whining was a butthurt cancer in the locker room in 2011, especially a certain QB who, as rumor had it, needed to go to class a wee bit more. And I believe it, because where there's smoke, there's fire!!!
