Scott and Williams have good reason to not be high round picks.

Scott - lack of overall physical skills (speed)

Williams - lack of touches

McKnight presumably has both those, plenty of exposure etc.

I really don't see what the NFL would picture with McKnight... he should have listened to Pete and been a DB.

I agree.

I get annoyed with these comments of, "well if Joe would have gone to LSU, things would be different, blah, blah blah".

Things seem to be turning out just fine for him, and he gained over 2,000 yards rushing in his career, as well as another 1,200 APY.

yeah, it's lame for sure.

I don't think McKnight had quite the physical skills people thought out of HS (top end speed at least). Not that he's not fast, he's just not in that upper echelon of speedsters.

I'm curious to see him in the league just because I don't really see him being a good RB there, but he could certainly be a 3rd down back/returner if he gets rid of his fumbling problems.

He got caught from behind or toe tackled way too much. He doesn't have that extra gear, but he is slippery.

He won't be an every down back for sure.

How does Gore fit in since he is smaller than Lache?

I think you could always benefit from a player like Seastrunk. Still a great class and no dissapointment.

We should learn that players don't 'belong' to us from the beginning, they have a right to choose another of the 119 D1a SCHOOLS.

That I dont think anyone disagrees with. Look at Lamichael James.

He made the right choice for himself.

Joe McKnight is projected to be a second round pick and is rated the seventh overall RB.

Charles Scott is projected to be a fourth round pick, and is rated the tenth overall RB.

Keiland Williams is projected to be a sixth round pick, and is rated the twentieth overall RB.

Maybe Scott and Willims should have gone to USC, where they would have been developed more and would probably be drafted higher using your logic.

McKnight = A worse version of Reggie Bush in the NFL where guys like Scott and Williams have a chance to be an every down back. Scott and Williams draft stock got hurt badly this year with injuries and the OL totally sucking.

Mcknight had a massive fumbling problem too he never seemed to fix.

Calhoun and him don't fit in as RBs in our offense. Probably (honestly) why they'll get 5 carries a game max while they're here.

Would have liked to see him at LSU but think he made a wise personal choice to attend Oregon. He could be amazing in that offense. Even at best, would have had limited PT under a Miles/Crowton offense.

This is almost statistically impossible.

If Charles Scott can outrun Brandon Jacobs then I'd be astonished. If Williams could outrun Beanie Wells then I'd be surprised.

Charles Scott is T.J Duckett 2.0.

TBird, did you see Calhoun play when he was at Tucker? The guy is loaded with talent and ability. We have to find a way to get him involved on the field in the coming years. I watched him return two kicks for TDs and run for 3 TDs. Electric ability. If he is not going to be a RB, then put him at WR or let him play CB. I think he has the skill set to do it. Let him return kicks...something.

However the people that grade the RBs didn't take this all into consideration.

Oregon is the best place to showcase his abilities

Yes, it will be fun to see what he will do on a talented offensive team. With a good offensive line he should do well against Pac 10 defenses.

His high school team had a couple of good players on offense and a couple on defense in 5A Texas football. Temple may have had a better team his junior year. Their only hope this past season was to have Lache beat the other team to the edge and break a long run.

It would be fun to see Oregon play an SEC team or two during his career there.

he sure as hell wasn't Reggie Bush.

SC told him he was during his recruitment and a lot of people belived it. Players with Bush's skills don't come along every year.

Its not too different from LSU having Gonzales tell any halfway fast kid he'll be the next Percy Harvin. I just think most of us realize LSU didn't sign any Harvins this year either.

McKnight's short career just seems dissapointing because he was hyped up so much as the next Bush.
