I think what you professional scouts are failing to realize is that Ford is putting up 200 yards a game against defenses that are designed to stop him. It doesn't matter how good the overall team is you are facing, if 9 guys are game planning to stop you ... it's going to be tough to get yardage against anyone.

Now, for whomever mentioned that he wouldn't gain this yardage against the likes of Hahnville, Destrehan etc., well West Monroe is pretty good last I checked. Sam Houston nearly beat Eunice, which is the No. 3 ranked team in 4A. I'm sure if he was on Destrehan's team, he would also have better offensive linemen blocking for him.

Of course, if you guys who think Ford is not that good, go ahead and write your concerns to Les Miles and I'm sure he'll take back that scholarship offer, just as he has benched Keiland Williams because he's not good enough for the ranter nation as well.

My friend wasnt really doubting Ford's talent, just withholding his opinion on how good Ford really is until the playoffs hit and he can run against better competition. How do you feel Ford will run once he gets to the playoffs.

God, I was playing Strong Safety when we played Leesville and Cecil Collins back in '96. That sucked. Not only did the guy have moves to juke his own damn shadow, but he was also strong enough to put his head down and trample nearly anyone.

I also played against Anthony Thomas, the tailback from Winnfield that went to Michigan and then the pros. That was even worse than Cecil. They had Thomas ( 6'2" 226 ) running behind a 6'3" 260lbs fullback. That was a night of hell.

I've only seen two of Ford's games, but I think he looks damn good. He may not be playing against the best competition that the state has to offer, but he's fast, has decent vision, and nice cuts. I think in the SEC, he'll need to be faster hitting the hole, and he'll need to work on his vision in space. Sometimes if he would just slow down half a step and look around he would be able to set up much better blocking downfield. Keep in mind, though, that running behind LSU's O-Line will help him out considerably, too.
