Why don't we ever say "it's tough to pull kids from LSU" or Louisiana ?

in my humble opinion, it's because Louisiana recruiting and players are very, very high profile. Coaches from all over the country know the talent we have as do recruiting services.

MS deserves more attention, but doesn't get it. They have a lot of talent and little to no media attention. Most of the state is very sparsely populated and it's easier to get in on these kids.

There's just no spotlight on kids in MS and handlers get in.

People always talk about how hard it is to get a player out of Louisiana and Mississippi fans just stay quiet, smile, and empty their pockets. OM and MSU boosters are hard to recruit against.

I hope we get Wilson, Gay, and Phillips, lord knows they would all contribute to this team immediately.

I sure hope the end result isn't one of disappointment though. If we got 2 of the three that would be outstanding. The one guy I think we really need to make sure we get is Wilson for sure though.

I really don't think Willie is playing games like many here may think. What, honestly, does he have to gain by saying all the things he said? He went into details about LB positions. He had to have been already paying attention to LSU. I really hope we can get Willie! Jacob would just be a cheery on top and more unlikely. Anyway, ready to see how the staff finishes.

He might be. Then again he may be serious. Sonny and Shea seemed to think that there is some level of seriousness with him even if he is a big talker. Nothing will be more certain until he visits.

Apparently not so much, at least OM at this time. Seen their recruiting ranking lately? They get much easier to recruit against when there is a real chance of looming sanctions.

In all honesty, I would not be surprised if OM boosters did in fact arrive in front of Akers and offered illicit benefits. He walked away knowing long term he would be better off at FSU. Not to even mention if FSU matched the ante somehow...if you know what I mean:).

LB to finish : Gay, Phillips and Brooks. Also, the 2 kids from TX Wilson and Chaisson. If LSU flips Allen just icing on the cake but not holding my breath on it.

I think it will be Gay, Phillips and Ignont. Chaisson's mom wants him at Texas and that is going to be hard to overcome. I heard he may be wavering on his visit scheduled for Jan. 13th and may cancel. There is slim to no chance of flipping Allen although the staff is working hard on him and Smith.

Yea why would they back off...I trust the stuff and they know what they are doing.. this isn't there first rodeo

Well, if it means they've got some silent LB commitments (which they probably do at this point), okay. If not, it makes no sense whatsoever to back off of a 4* linebacker who is very interested in coming to LSU.
