I understand everybody being upset. I am too. However lets be honest about it.
- We are selfish and want every good Louisiana player to want us as much as we want them.
- We hate it when a Louisiana player doesn't choose us.
- It stings more if the player is the best in the nation at his position.
- It stings even more if the player chooses Bama over us...mostly because of Saban
HOWEVER i think it is fair to point out what this is not.
- It is not Joe McKnight. He did not string our coaches along until NSD. His HS coach did not steer him away from us. We did not hold a spot for him on NSD and possibly miss out on others.
- He did not from what we know, lie to our coaches. It seems that he was open to listen to them, took an official visit, and then made a decision.
- He did not make a poor football decision. If you are a stud DB in college football there are 2 places you should want to go. Those places are LSU and Alabama. They are THE premier defensive back schools in the nation with arguably the two best coaches around for that position - Cooper and Saban.
MY only worry for Collins is that he has created a lingering family problem for himself. The Mom thing is probably not going to be simple or easy for him. I hope that all gets smoothed out no matter what he does. Thats not good for anybody...but its particularly bad if you are going to move a good bit away. Its even worse if you are going to have to spend half a year in a school and community that will not like your decision to not have family support. I hope that stuff gets smoothed out for his sake.

I hope he does not plan to come back to Louisiana after his football playing days are over and pursue any type of business venture...I hate to say it...sure is tough for these types of players that leave their home state to play football...and then come back after their playing days are over and make a life after football....people don't forget....
