Probably not as strange as the rumor mongers have made it appear. Recruiting is MUCH different than many people think it is. My younger brother was a mid level college recruit, but a few of his teamates were highly recruited.
If I were 17-18 years old, not sure I would handle it as well as some of these guys. The pressure is WAY too much for the average person of that age.

You are right. The first thing the NCAA should do is
limit the amout of times the pay sites can contact each recruit.
The NCAA needs to understand that the local pay sites
are used as an extension of the university even though they are
an independent company. Saban was right about some reporters
pimping the college they were only supposed to report
on not to mention starting rumors about the other school
said recruit was considering. I have more concerns but
the NCAA could care less because it would cost them money
and we all know what the love of money makes them.
