You don't need a dual threat, you just need a threat. Someone that can run for a 1st on 3rd and 5 when no one is open. People don't realize that even ole Peyton manning could do that in college. These kids are 19-22 years old all of them can do that. Matt mauck and Matt Flynn perfected it and that's why LSU was so damn good

We should. Les wants to run an I formation pro style smash mouth offense and he recruits QB's who have never played under center or had to read a defense before coming to LSU. Makes no sense at all and is absolutely stupid. A mobile qb does not help this running game nearly as much as a one that can threaten a defense with accurate intermediate and downfield passing. We get a kid who lives in a shot gun and now we are going to say line up and take 3 to 7 step drop, read the defense, go through progressions or hand it off, whatever. Stupid.

Curious. Have you ever played QB (college or pro)? Did you see Watson (Clemson) last night convert on 1 and long, 2 and 10? Did you not see him out throw Jake Coker last night? Just because you play in the Spread offense in high school, doesn't mean you were not required to read defenses. To the contrary, many high school quarterback who come from Sprint offenses, spend more time reading defenses than guys who were under center. You would be surprised at the number of high school quarterbacks that make this transition.

I just don't get the rationale that a guy who only poses a single threat is the way to go. Give me a guy Who can read defenses, complete passes, and hurt you with his legs.

Harris is really a pro style if a kid can run they list them as duel threat. When its not a designed run though and he scrambles he does a great job keeping his eyes up the field until he's past the line of scrimmage. Now with a pro style offense the reads are more complex typically takes the QB until they are 2-3 years in before they completely understand the offense. Main reason being very few if any high schools run that style of passing attack so they don't have any experience with it when they get to college.
