Wow, pure class I see. This happens every year. These are 17-18 year old kids who are making decisions many times for what they think gives them the best chance to play. LSU is loaded with talent and I think he saw a chance to play earlier perhaps. Also, playing under one of the best defensive minds of all time in Monte Kiffin probably didn't hurt either. You guys are going to be fine, but geesh the comments on here are (some of them) are classless. I thought we had a meltdown yesterday on Marlon Brown but you'd think this kid had kicked your dog & slapped your momma. It's a kid guys

You don't get it...we have no problem with a kid going somewhere else, just don't lead us on.

He did kick the dog and slap mama!

You guys just got rid of a great defensive mind in John Chavis. Old Kiffen is washed up like his defense showed at the end of the year at Tampa Bay. BayBay is just waiting for the old dude to croak! Now there's a class guy...BayBay Orgeron... you ever been to Galliano, LA Rockytophigh, go down there when you get a chance and be sure you wear the 'bright orange' when you go and be singing Rocky Top when you do and tell them how muchn you luv that 'traitor' Manning!..

We as LSU fans should have known something was wrong when he didn't sign yesterday

Well, I knew something was up yesterday when Kiffen all but named Jackson as his next signee while on a phone interview with ESPN. It was almost a NCAA violation, imo.

PS. frick 'em. and to all those who say "i'll be pulling for our La. boy", it's his choice to be Tigerbait, not ours. so don't let the door hit you in the arse and keep yer head on a swivel, JJ.

Even without Jackson we signed a great class!! Les did an amazing job

I agree with all of this.

it is probably for the better that we didn't get him. His daddy would have probably been in his ear all season and he would focus more on his daddy's coaching than Les's.

But not this.

I'm very happy with our class though.

So he just woke up this morning and realized all this? We don't have a problem with him decomitting, happens all the time. We have a problem with him delaying it past signing day, after saying LAST week that he was solid as ever to LSU, and THEN sign with your shitty arse team after it's too late for us to get anybody else.

I don't think what he did was right....& I don't think I'd invite him to Thanksgiving dinner if I were ya'll, but some of the responses on here are just brutal. I know when my son gets of age to be recruited, if I saw what some of the people on here were saying, I'd know we made the right decision. It's a kid guys. It was not handled in the right way, but we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. We lost our top in state recruit yesterday because his grandmother thought Richt was a better Christian than Kiffin for goodness sakes.

I know when my son gets to be the age of being recruited, I will have raised him with enough class not to pull shite like this. My son will be a man of his word and won't be afraid to accept the consequences when he does something wrong.

Thing is, why go to Tenn? The program has to rebuild and there are only two coaches on the entire staff that can actually coach. Answer: the only reason for him to go to Tenn is dirting dealings, such as his Dad's new job or possible job at Tenn.

I'll be honest...I've been to New Orleans several times & Slidell once. Spent quite a bit of time in Monroe. However, I would have to pull out a map to find Galliano, LA my friend. I'd sure like to go though....I think. Most of the LSU folks I've met have been great football fans and much like us Tennesseans, like to have a damn good time. Come fall Saturdays, football is king. I want you guys to beat every team you play except when playing us. You guys are loaded with talent yet again. I look forward to my next trip to Louisiana (not sure when that'll be with the wife not working) to talk some football and drink some beer. It's what makes living in the South great.....well one thing. Good luck to you this year.

exacerbating all of this is that his dad is a college coach. he of all people should know better.

according to volnation, you lost brown because orgeron showed up at granny's house with whiskey on his breath. Sounds nuts, but with that lunatic...who knows.

That's the way I am raising my son. "It's OK to lie, mislead and deceive people because those people are going to be mad at you afterwards." LAME!
