What If Coach O told him it might be a better option for him to look elsewhere? Maybe Coach O has his offensive strategy in place and out of respect for the kid, he told him it might not be he best fit.
so he told this to Brennan AND Narcisse?
what is our new offensive philosophy going to be? O allegedly told a PP and DT to look around

Good thing we pissed off Brennan

100% wildcat offense. No need for a QB
Posted on 12/12/16 at 8:53 am to SlowFlowPro
Which is exactly why they retained Miles
It's utter bullshite we put ourselves right back in the same position and didn't go a new direction
I honestly feel O would have stayed on as DL coach and our recruiting would at worst be the same right now

well to be fair, wasn't he committed to Auburn during one of them?
LN hasn't been 100% LSU the entire time like Brennan was

Les Miles has lost control of Ed Orgeron.

yes, he didn't commit to LSU until last May.

LSU has always kept his offer through both injuries though
That's the point
Yes he was once committed to Au but LSU never waivered on him

But I was told for years on here that you could put anyone at head coach at LSU and they would be successful.
What is going on?

yeah LN hasn't always been in the cupboard
i think after the 2nd ACL issue, Auburn backed off and LSU was sticking behind him
now Auburn is back on the hunt and we are a complete mess so it's easy to appreciate them again

Everybody saying we could get 26-28 recruits in this cycle, we may not even get close to that number honestly.

So you're confirming that you're a Les fan, and not an LSU fan.
Please join all of the other bandwagoners on the way out.
O hasn't even coached his first game as full time head coach, and hell he hasn't even completed his recruiting class for this year. Once we hire an OC, things will bounce back.

I know I heard that Miles was asked to fire Cam and he refused. At this point I almost wish they could have just forced Miles to fire Cam but he was too stubborn.
I don't miss Miles but if they were never gonna conduct a real coaching search then Wtf. We'd at least still have coach o on staff and Aranda and probably better recruiting.
Oh well too stubborn.
Wish we'd just say f it and find a way to get Briles. That's just me though

In all seriousness, this is what uncertainty does - I like that Alleva pulled the trigger on a HC - a guy the players like, a great recruiter, etc.
BUT, that choice had consequences - maybe O has Kiffin in the bag (I don't think so, but maybe) - and O has been unofficially suggesting/implying to kids that is who the OC is going to be (thus the Tua fiasco) - but, they see Kiffin going around to every HC vacancy they hear about, so they start not to believe him.
And other schools are negatively recruiting the shite out of them with all this uncertainty at the position. Hell, it would have been better to name Ensminger as the OC and tell the kids, "At worst, Kiffin comes in as a consultant for the spread." - Then, they kind of know - Brennan would have been locked up because he would be right at home with the tweaks Ensminger made to the office the back 2/3 of the season. Narcisse might have been emboldened by a desire to open it up and the hint that Kiffin or similar coach would come in to help implement a spread.
Instead of win-win, O (Full disclosure - I was generally supportive of the hire once Jimbo and Herman fell through - I remain cautiously optimistic) - has kind of made it a lose-lose. That doesn't bode well.
Alleva effectively kicked the can down the road - now we're basing everything on a homerun OC hire because he chose to try the squeeze play with 1 out and it didn't work on the HC hire.

the fricked up part is that the 2 biggest reasons we kept O were (1) to maintain continuity to avoid that issue and (2) to maintain THIS class as almost a symbol of that continuity. it seems that all of that is falling apart

How do you get that out of what I said?
It was time for Miles to go. I have said that repeatedly even before the firing happened.
I'm laughing at the idiots that just think running successful programs is something anyone can do like people were saying for years while discrediting any positives that happened while Miles was coach.
