Friday Night Tykes on Esquire. . . . and it is TV gold.
They have some talent in that league, but the part about puberty and speed dominating are very true in youth football. I would just wait and see how they turn out. You will know by the time they are sophomores.
I was surprised the blue Outlaw team lost to that Wolfpack team. The big kid for the Outlaws dominated that league, but he picked a bad time to have a lousy game - in the playoffs no less.

The new show steel country is great too. Love the Central Valley coach.

On the 11-12 team I coached two years ago I had a kid whose 40 time was probably closer to 8 seconds and another who ran about a 5.5 but had won a few gold medals in track... Fasteat kid on the field but still needed more speed to compete against older kids. The 8 second kid was tough, great tackler and surprisingly quick off the ball - made a great defensive lineman. Now, 2 years later, the 8 second kid has grown taller/leaner and started doing squats - has his 40 to 5.4 and can beat the faster Pee wee kid in a foot race. It is amazing what testosterone can do to a young teen's body.

Saw a couple of episodes. Kid is legit.

Tadion Lott won't be big enough to play D1 ball... his parents were tiny.
I agree about Myzel.. kid was unreal especially against the California kids. I wish the best for his future for sure.

The Central Valley HC in the Steel Country episodes is all business. Intensity, Perfectionist, wrapped in a stylish snappy dresser. His use of the word "Gentlemen" when he addresses his team gets his boys to play. Undefeated for 3 seasons?
You have to watch these characters. The guy coaching the Mantoc team is hilarious while his team gets destroyed.

Our SLFYA kids would beat the brakes out of these steel country teams. Maybe all but a couple in the San Antonio league too. They don't even know where to line up. You can only do so much with one great athlete running the ball, and the rest just running around without a clue.
