he didn't play QB till his SO. year.....let him play his senior year before we discuss his position

dude, I am just saying I would be concerned over a 40% completion rate.
For the SECOND time, his offense is NOT built around throwing the football. Therefore, when he does throw it, the defense is expecting it. He only threw the ball something like just over 100 times that year, and that was his FIRST year playing QB.

ya'll keep drinking the koolaid

Dude, your the one that came on the board asking where we thought he would play. We told you QB, and then you start saying he is small and is not a good passer. Just wait till 09' when we play yall.

I was just disturbed by his passing stats.

You obviously only would have been satisfied with "Russell had a below average completion rate and has no chance of improving on it, ever"

You can't be THIS stupid
Apparently EVERY recruiting site is "drinking the koolaid" too

well somebody compared him to Terrelle Pryor and Pryor had a 23-3 td/int ratio and around a 60% completion percentage along with rushing numbers better than shep's so whoever made that comparison and said he is ahead of Pryor in terms of being a QB needs to layoff the koolaid

And you'll be more disturbed by them when he tears apart Auburn in a few years.
Seriously though, it's been explained to you countless times in this thread why his passing stats weren't very good in 06 and 07. Why do keep acting like it's a huge issue when apparently NO recruiting site says it's an issue?

Auburn has a 244 pound DT signed. You have to be crazy to think a guy that small will last in the SEC.
Auburn has a QB who only threw for 1,500 yards.
Auburn has a 190 pound DE signed.
Auburn has 6 players with no stars.

When did we start talking about Houston Nutt??

It's not just about what they do on the field. It's how they look as a passer itself. The offense a QB runs in can make them look a lot better or a lot worse than they really are.
Casey Dick will put up some big numbers next year throwing in Petrino's offense, but is he a better QB than Stafford who will likely have much worse numbers?
All the scouts say (and if you watch video of him at camps and whatnot) he is an accurate passer with a good arm. His offense in the last 2 years has held him back in the passing game. This year should be very different.

Question on Russell Shepard?

That's why he is hanging around an opponents board stirring shite. He stinks, let him go away.

Burns fricking sucks. He couldnt throw for shite last year.
Many experts say Shepard is a better passer than Pryor was at this stage.
He is working with a former pro bowl QB on his mechanics.

shepherd = bad news for the barners. but look at the bright side - i am sure you will find a way to cheap shot the guy a la glenn dorsey.

dude, that somebody was a fricking espn recruiting analyst
Evaluation
Shepard is much further along as a passer than Terrelle Pryor was at this stage, and Shepard is more explosive. He's the type of player any college program would want to get his hands on the ball as often as possible becasue he is a gamebreaker.

Yet most Rantards believe he is the worst QB in the SEC...You (not meaning you specifically) can't have it both ways...
stay on topic...
Shep is a better athlete than Burns....but not that much better. Shep is like a more elusive but slower Matt Jones from what I've seen so far...

Shep ran a 4.33. Speed is not a factor.

He is among the worst IMO. Worst? Probably not. But bottom 4, yes. When you throw the ball 400+ times like he probably will next year, you're bound to put up some numbers though.
