I try to read each of the three to four Rueben Randle threads that get started here daily. They do have a tendency to all blend together after awhile.
I was just making a point about coaches talking about message boards in recruiting. In the final analysis, who really cares what people post on a message board. It is absolutely irrelevant to what happens on the field. Honestly, I do not even think its a good way to gage the opinions of the fans.
If I were a recruit and a coach came in talking about message boards, I would think that guy was wasting my time talking about inconsequential things instead of answering my questions about the school.

DMitch is saying that not only some posters are making ignorant statements that leaves a bad taste in the recruit's and his families' mouths, but it also hinders LSU's recruiting of that player. If our compliance officer has to call Reuben or any other recruit any time some rumor or other concern pops up, it can piss off the recruit/their family and affect our continued recruitment of that prospect.

The players families would be wise to focus on more consequential things during recruiting, not the day to day jackassery that occurs on SEC message boards.

Rollie, I think you are still posting on a different topic than the others.

D, I'm originally from Monroe too. I saw your bro play and he was amazing. Good luck to him and your family as y'all weather the next month or so of recruiting.

I think you are right Monk. In these long threads, there tends to be more than one direction the topics go.

"If our compliance officer has to call Reuben or any other recruit any time some rumor or other concern pops up"
This seems like a pretty ridiculous rule that could be easily abused. An Auburn poster posing as an LSU fan could post an assinine untruth and hurt LSU doing so. Again, the lack of accountability makes it impossible to determine who the person is posting it and what is their real affiliation.
