They had Logan Heastie ranked ahead of Randle all season long as their no. 1 WR and I had several arguments w/ one of their main scouting guys ab it (Lichtenfelds? sp). He insisted Heastie was clearly superior on film and that he didn't need to see prospects in person to correctly scout them. I told him over and over again that film doesn't tell the whole story and that film alone doesn't do RR justice to how good he is. Sure enough after the all star games, RR was moved up to the top spot and Heastie fell to no. 8. Kennedy chimed in after saying he'd bet me anything RR won't be the top WR drafted when he comes out (essentially saying their rankings were worthless).

I havent been happy with my scout sub lately... not gonna lie. I see stuff on rivals all the time that peak my interest way more than scout. I like TSDs LSU coverage.... but the main board, rankings, and coverage of anything else sucks bad.

scout is a fricking joke, how can Hillard be ESPN'S TOP soph. and top JR RB in the country but scout does not even have him the top 100 give me a break. That's crazy

Cal had similar position ratings for 2010 for their top 6 guys.
The CAL recruiter got National recruiter of the year.

I hope LSU can hold those verbals.

its all point of view. Its like when you watch a boxing match.
I saw a match this week, the Spanish/Argentine whacked the heck out of the American. The fight was in the US. one judge has it even, (Lederman) 114-114. One judge has it 115-113 The other, deciding judge has it 119-111 for the winner. You might say its a bribe, but it might be some kind of point of view.

So.. since there is no money in this scout's version being as it is, we have to presume incompetence or prejudice.
What kinds of prejudice? for fast guys. For big guys,
For guys who can hold their blocks. I dont know what Scouts is hallucinating, after all scouts in not a person. Some guy did that rating. It will all come out in the wash. We are actually better off that all the Louisiana guys are NOT rated #1 at their position, because MICHIGAN and Notre Dame and Tennessee will be after THOSE guys no matter where they live because the BEST local players in those teams states are mostly three star.

good, let Michigan and Tennesee go to Mississippi and Bama.

rest assured, those 15 will get attention nationally unless they say no thanks, early and often.

I asked Sonny and Shea last week what the chances are that Rasco edges out Collins and Freak in the initial rankings. I never got an answer, but I see now that my hunch was correct.

I'm a little perplexed in the in-state folks rankings vs. the national services.

I'm interested in Rivals now.

I agree, and with the same breath deny that there are 21 football players in the upcoming class better than Kenny Hilliard. 15 maybe, but not 21. (I guess I shouldn't quibble.)

they don't, they have Landry the 13th best WR and Hilliard the 22nd best RB, both are laughable. Scott Kennedy (Scout's lead recruiting guy) is one of the worst analysts I've seen on any of the sites.

I didn't read the whole thread before I posted above..

Hilliard the #22 best RB? Are they freakin' kidding us? I think he's a Top 15 player, regardless of position. When I see on film, a nephew of Dalton Hilliard, who looks like a bigger, stronger, faster version of Dalton Hilliard, and I can remember what Dalton did...

Here's to Kenny giving Scout a big $hitburger to eat.

And there's no way that there are 12 receivers better than Landry, either.
