For instance - D'angelo Benton had committed to Auburn last year 3 1/2 weeks before NSD. Was it "silent", whatever. But it was what it was. Timing is everything.

Monk - unfortunately, you're dead wrong on this one.

I'm pretty sure LSU told the kid he needed to go elsewhere because of RR. There would be no other reason why Benton, who had been lingering in limbo for more than a year because of grades, would hold a secret "silent" commetment to Auburn until the last minute.

Don't know what you guys are smoking, but if you are going to talk about Running Back U, you better include Texas, Oklahoma and USC. I don't totally agree with this list, but it has some merit. Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson and a few others probably deserve to be on here.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong but I can't imagine that I'm somehow wrong on this one.

Also, if I were wrong, it would not be "unfortunate." It would be "Fortunately, you're dead wrong on this one" because a lot of LSU fans would much prefer to think that Benton bolted and chose AU over LSU, but that's not how it went down.

The chances of an AU fan that has almost no knowledge of Benton for 3 years, except that he is an LSU verbal/signee, knowing more than the high school coach that coached him and finally got him eligible is almost zero.

I'm not even sure of the point that you're trying to make but if you're trying to argue that AU somehow snuck into LA and stole 1 of our top recruits, good luck with that.
