Do you not realize you need QBs for scout team? You have to have QBs to help our 15 wr’s we’ll have get reps catching from live arms? Theres a lot more to a good team than just what you see on the field. You can’t go into a year in the SEC with 2 scholarship QBs.

This has been talked about several times on here. You need 3 QB’s minimum, no other way around it. This isn’t the NFL where you can just trade for another QB or pick one up in free agency mid-season.

QB1 messes up his knee in week one and is out for 8 weeks, we are living on a prayer with QB2? Then QB2 goes down in week 4, who’s the QB?

Bottom line no exceptions, you need at least 3, and probably a 4th and 5th for emergency and scout team. Doesn’t matter if they are on scholarship or walk on, you need 3 minimum. Look around and find a college that doesn’t have at least 3 QB’s on their roster.

As a former Receiver Coach

You have routes on air, 7 on 7, inside run, team 1’s, team 2’s, scrimmaging…

Walk On’s don’t do most of that. They watch on the sidelines. They run scout team throw a little routes on air to help relieve the arms of the scholarship quarterbacks in practice sometimes.

It’s not the game. It’s the preparation in spring, fall camp, game weeks

If SL is your 1, you have no one in spring. You can’t have 1 QB doing all this just preposterous will never happen.

You don’t have a walk on working on timing with starting in second string wide receivers that will never throw them the ball. The offense will be a mess even working on inside run handoff or PO‘s read option. You don’t use walk-ins to do all the things except for maybe working scout team against the starting defense.

You need three quarterbacks and one or two walk ons. This is it division three class B high school football.

If you have Sam L as you’re one who can’t go in the spring, you definitely need three quarterbacks and those other two are gonna be pushing it…. getting a lot of experience which at least that is a good thing.

Get those 2 and give Piccarillo a Scholly. Or add Guerra as well?

They might just sign 2 if they have confidence in Picarella…. I don’t but I’ve never seen him throw a ball

Only 2 QBs threw passes last season

There is more to it than just actual game reps. You still need QB's in practice, running scout team, etc. We currently have one walk on thats actually a good qb but we need guys capable of actual game reps. I seem to remember when tOSU won a championship with the back up to the back up qb.
