I also think people are having a hard time understanding how or why Baylor is getting certain recruits and need something to justify it.
If you are going to be successful, you have to start somewhere. Be it 1937, or 2009.....somewhere in time, your building block will be built. I think Briles will eventually put Baylor somewhat on the college football map. Because a school doesnt have positive history, doesn't mean they never will. They've become somewhat relevant in basketball and baseball recently. Why not football?
I, for one, am pulling for them.

Trying to ease them down slowly?
Seems like the mods got a little titty twisted. Deleted my post which simply said...
quote:
Do some of you know only Fobbs even had/has an LSU offer of those 4 LA kids and that's for defense. Which initially he said he did not want to play but word has it he's liking his LSU visit quite a lot right now for camp.
Which is just some factual info. But of course god forbid someone bring any facts to that site.
I really like these responsess to the OP about the 4 recruits they have from LA...

Damn....do they dislike Les Miles....?

Talking to my buddy last week from 'bama he apparently the SEC couldn't be happier about our recruiting. Taking a little of the carpet out from under LSU should open up the SEC west.
And then of course when I type out my response I get this reaction...
quote:
Lucky for you, we arent talking about LSU, but players in Louisiana.
Nope, clearly didn't say anything about LSU or Les Miles. Just talked about players from LA huh?
P.S. I'm banned now for simply posting that

I got banned for creating an "offensive username" (I still don't see how Ratphuc Hobley is offensive) then posting that Jackson Jeffcoat was about to commit.
I did get a spinoff thread started though and now everyone thinks there's a big conspiracy over there.

They banned you for that?
Holy crap. Nothing like going through life like this. It's an Aggie tradition!

Not me. If there is a bigger bunch of freaks than Texas A&M, its Baylor.

Baylor doesn't have that air of entitlement the folks in College Station do though. They've never been good so their fanbase doesn't understand how to handle just the slightest bit of hope for the future.

I don't disagree.
I have always found it strange, but then again I wasn't a student at the time A&M was good.
It seems like the entitlement comes from the older classes of fans, the newer crowd hasn't been apart of a good team in a while.

I try and stay away from the recruiting board and football board, the premium forum is the only place that isn't ridiculous.

It's funny to go over to tigerdroppings and watch you guys call out US for having a sense of entitlement, and acting like we've never been good and have had no success. The funniest part about it is that for over a decade prior to Saban's arrival, LSU was absolutely terrible. The 00's is the best run you've ever had by far, and you act like it's business as usual. Funny how you quick you seem to forget that. Your posts over there about bringing "facts" to this board is funny, considering that board has a higher contingent of coonass idiots than anything I've ever seen.
You guys seem to have a hard time "understanding" this board, and you can tell from reading the comments about our thread on our LA commits. It's very easy to see that NO ONE on that thread thinks we're handing LSU their azz in LA, but you run over to your board and act like that's being said. Example: "Do they just not like Les Miles" from one of our posters. Look at the emoticon he was using-he was kidding. We're very well aware of the players we've got, and if LSU wanted them or not. We don't think we're beating you head to head for many players right now. We're not delusional, no matter how many times you twist what we say and try to make it so. That board, your fans, and that state, are a complete ****hole.
I got all that for saying "Lache Seastrunk is in Baton Rouge with his family this weekend"

I'm a Bama fan, so I have no interest in selling LSU for more than they are. But simply put, the only thing that matters in competitive sports is - as Saban puts it - "the precious present moment." The past is irrelevant to everyone but the homer fans (Alabama fans tend to have this same problem), the future is out of your control besides the things that you do in the present that could effect the future.
The matter of fact is that LSU is a premier program in the SEC TODAY and have recruited well enough that they likely are not going down tomorrow. It's even more troubling to see users here flame a program that has accomplished more in ONE DECADE than you guys have in - what? - half a century? It's especially idiotic considering he simply stated that a player was in Baton Rouge instead of Auburn, Alabama this weekend which is true and relevant information.
Second, I took a look at rivals.com's commit list for you guys and I simply don't think taking a lowly ranked 4-star (RR 5.8 - the lowest 4-star in Rivals' books), a lowly ranked 3-star, and two unranked guys out of Louisiana is "handing their asses to them." What is more likely to deduce from that is that you are simply pouncing on the ones who couldn't make the snuff to get an LSU offer and rather play Big-12 football in College Station than Sunbelt football in Louisiana.
This is TAMU's fan board, you have a right to school zeal and optimism. But seeing this topic makes me see why Texas fans call TAMU their Auburn. This all reeks of red-headed step-child syndrome. You guys need a dose of reality: your program hasn't been the same since RC Slocum left, you've lost ground to even Texas Tech in regards to in-state recruiting, and LSU's emergence has killed one of your old out-of-state recruiting beds. And personally, I don't think Mike Sherman is the guy to guide you out of this mess...his NFL career has solely Brett Farve to thank.
This site is almost a bigger hoot than ITAT.
