Northwestern had the #1 I-AA recruiting class this year, apparently.
I heard about this. I've been wondering where on the Rivals site one could find I-AA recruiting coverage, if at all possible.

tech had the best recruiting class this year, with tulane slightly behind them. the two classes were close though with tech coming off of a bowl win and tulane coming off of a 2 win season. i think historically tulane has been by far the second best program in the state and has the potential to return there. the fact that it is a national university makes it easier to recruit out of state and it has more to offer than the other in state schools

they only go buy kids that were listed in the Rivals database. It's the only thing they can gauge classes by. for instance, NSU had 2-3 * players this year and 3 or 4 2*'s. Compared to all these other schools that have one or 2 *'s and a 3* here and there.
Hence, they have "rivals points", therefore they are the "#1 recruiting class." It's inevitable that they never win a SLC title anyway, so it doesn't matter. With Peveto as the head coach, it's laughable to even think about it.

Ridge Turner signed with NSU and he has about as much of a chance of qualifying as Eddie Lacy.

Does Southeastern students have any kind of social life? The only person I know that goes to SE comes back to Zachary every weekend.
Is there any student type local bars around campus?

Grambling and Southern suck balls. I'm sure I'll get called out for saying that again.
Yeah, thank god for integration.

My brother plays for La. Tech and he loves the awesome travel. Hawaii is a huge draw for the recruits he says. Tech is also in the plans for their new jumbotron I think its a 29 by 62ft screen set to be ready for next year and a brand new 3 story field house on the south endzone in 2011.

truthbetold, you may want to check out the new campus. totally redone in the past 5 years. 90 million was spent on it. Amazing transformation, No more olin, hudson, sherouse halls, it has anew library, new student housing and a bunch of other new things.

Besides LSU in what order would you list the other LA schools in regard to attracting recruits.
(LA Tech, McNeese, Nichols, Northwestern, Southeastern, Southern, Tulane, ULL, ULM)
You left out Louisiana College and Grambling. Louisiana Collage is divison 3 by the way.
So Louisiana has 12 college football teams (five division 1, six division 1AA, and one divison 3 school.)
I'll say:
1. La Tech
2. Tulane
3. ULM
4. McNeese
5. Northwestern State
6. ULL
7. Southeastern
8. Nichols
9. Southern
10. Grambling
11. Louisiana College

I stayed with family in Monroe and I spent two weeks studying for boards at ULM's libary.
Very nice library and overall I was impressed with ULM's campus.

How does Southern come in above Grambling. Do you all know the football history and traditon that GSU carries.

We all know for a large minority of people in louisiana team favorites run as up
Northern Louisiana: Grambling, LSU southern
Southern Louisiana: Southern, LSU and whomever else.
We were all practically raised and more than likely was the first games we intended. LSU just offers a better oppurtunity to improve our lot. It would be safe to say the majority of louisiana players of afro-american persuasion probably were raised southern/grambling fans. If you have an oppurtunity to play big time football it is LSU hands down. I went cloudy after LSU,,,non of the other schools don't matter.

Southeastern has good facilites, and the campus is nice, new weight room is almost done, press box is, besides LSU, the best in the state, really go see it, but the athletic building where football was housed, I think still is, is not bad or ugly, just out of date.
U are right there is good facilites i was no the first team in spring of 04. But the damn stadium is called STRAWBERRY STADIUM. comon on man what 18yr kids wants to tell girls come watch me play @ Strawberry Stadium..

If you are considered a top recruit, and you do not get into LSU or TECH, (If your goal is to get to the NFL)and you want to stay in LA. it is smarter to go to Grambling.
Grambling gets the same if not more national attention, and Nationally televised Games than LA TECH. The competition is still Div 1(though AA), so it is respected by NFL Scouts. One of the Boosts of Grambling's success came from ER who sent more than 200 players to the NFL.

With the new coaching staff and the class they recruited watch out for NSU - that isn't counting the transfers that will be coming in the fall. It will be a pleasure watching them whip up on the Cowboys from Lake Charles....

Where did Stoker end up, anyway? I heard when he got fired he might make his way back to McNeese but then I never heard any more of it
