and oher will be a 1st round pick, if not top 10, so he must be doing something right.

...Andre Smith at UA
ETA: Chaz Ramsey, Lee Ziemba, Mike Berry, Byron Isom have all started as freshman just at Auburn.

Just for the hell of it...other than Hester and Ali Highsmith (who i think was a 2 star on one site and a 3 star on another)...do you know of ANY other two star players to make it to the pros 'off the top of your head'? (excluding kickers).
The numbers don't work in your favor....
Welll i can name top 10 draft pick that was an offensive lineman this year. You would probably be suprised at how many offensive lineman are in the NFL that were two and three star players. Oh and Les Miles tried to get him when he was at Oklahoma State...he's from New Orleans. So was the other kid that made all Big XII that played for Les. If this was a WR, DL, LB ect I would be concerned but not OL

Believe it or not, I still pay for a Rivals sub. I feel like I need access to all the info in order to be fully informed. I'm HuskersIllustrated, baby...and Mike Scarborough and Tensey Pricer can't track me down under this name to ban me....

Tony Ugoh...But that was when he was a rookie for Indy...He played the most important position on the field for Peyton...LT

This kid can be coached up. He haas a ton of potential and I think personally that he will work out to be a LSU stalwart.

Rivals lists Edwards as the #26 ranked TE (3*)
Scout lists Edwards as the #14 ranked TE (4*)
Excellent point!
BTW: I don't think anyone has mentioned Nate Livings a 1* recruit on both Scout and Rivals. Not a lock in the NFL at this point, but I hope he makes it.

If this has been posted b4, kindly ignore.
TVM asks and scratchman responds, "My question is who from the Rivals 2002 High School Recruiting class was drafted into the NFL and did their "Star" rating serve as any kind of a predictor of their draft position?" LINK
Scratchman does this analysis every year and these results are reportedly typical:
# Stars Drafted Undrafted Total Drafted% Ave Draft Position
5-Star......15..........24.........39.......38%..........104
4-Star......67.........253.......320.......21%..........110
3-Star......39.........508.......547........7%...........113
2-Star......24.........531.......555........4%...........142
Total......145.......1316......1461......10%
His conclusions:
1. Clearly 5-Stars are a great deal. Get all you can all the time.
2. Clearly 4-Stars are a great deal. Get all you can all the time.
3. Some 3-Stars will turn out to be great players (Mike Hart, Braylon Edwards etc.) but for the most
part they are NOT the core stars of a Top-10 college football team. Those are the 4-stars and 5-stars.
4. Draft position was clearly higher depending uponn star rating, but the difference was not great.
5. Of the 255 players drafted into the NFL each year about 100 of them could not be found anywhere in the
rivals database.....Hmmmmm.
TVM says, "...stars are no guarantee. 62% of 5-Star players (the very best -- the ones we think are can't miss prospects) didn't get drafted. 79% of 4-Star players failed to get drafted and 92% of 3-Star prospects didn't get drafted. The takehome here is that you need to recruit aggressively and continuously because the odds are that even your best recruits won't live up to their potential."
Conclusion 5 is most shocking to me. Around 100 of the 255 players drafted every year fail to make Rivals' database??

The guy I linked is nearly 100 pounds lighter than Williford and is about the same speed.
That just goes to show that Rivals is playing politics with this hack Barton Simmons.
He's the same person who got Tyler Edwards downgraded after Edwards committed to LSU.
I've been following recruiting for 4 years now and I believe that Rivals are a bunch of HACKS...
I even heard their top man on the radio say that CA recruits get covered more thoroughly because they have more talent evaluators on staff in CA per capita compared to LA & MS...the two states that per capita put more players in the pros per capita than any others.
The top man at Rivals admits this...
Additionally, I've been hearing on this web site of the Alabama bias of Rivals...
It is based there, right?
Then Clean busts their fricking chops and rightly so!
I don't give a "Flock" what they rate LSU's players if they are going to continue this fraud.
Let them rank our whole class 2 stars and we will win the NC again?
Rivals, this one's for you...
The kid is at least a 3* because we just won a NC and don't have to take sub-par recruits this year...so obviously since we have two OL coaches - Stud & Miles...I don't think...I freaking know that they know talent...and this kid has more than just size and speed...you can bet on that!

I hope you're right. I could see it in other years...but this year
Smalling was just huge with fair straightline speed. Never panned out. I'll definitely be pulling for Williford though!

Also, when taking into account Olineman, they are the hardest to evaluate. Lemming was talking about how they are the hardest group to evaluate and admitted he's not good at it. I doubt any of the sites are. Look around the NFL at where these guys played. Its a much more diverse group than any other position.
