But in all seriousness, if we could have finished in the red zone against SC (who AT LEAST has a comparable if not better front 7 than Bama), we would have blown them out.
We put up over 400 yards on that defense and were a few blown plays (hilliard getting stood up inside the 1 and Mett over-throwing a wide open Landry) from putting up in the mid 30's or low 40's in that game. Sure, Saban and Bama will be better prepared and scheme better than USCe, but the point is that LSU can move the ball and just needs to finish better.
Plus a Saturday night in Death Valley never hurts

Wrong, bama's team last year is better than this year. Their defense last year was unreal. Their defense this year isn't on that level. If LSU plays like they did against SC they'll win. Plain and simple. If they play like they did against A&M or Florida, they lose.
I agree! We could have easily beat USCe by 2 or 3 td's. atm too

IMHO I think that it will tough sledding against Bama. For one, Saban will send quite a few disguised blitzs at Mett. Mett will be hard-pressed to recognize exactly what is taking place.
Also, although I honestly think our running game is second to none, its extremely hard to run against a stacked box consistantly.
I think our D will be outstanding as usual but Bama will score here and there and that will put a significant amount of pressure on our offense to match thier offensive production against the best D we will have faced this year.
To be honest, we will probably just play not to turn it over, and run a few tricky plays like we did in 2010 to beat them. It's going to be a rather low-scoring game. Something like 16-13.
Our defense will dominate their offense. They'll move the ball some, but they'll stall on the other side of the 50. Our defense plays its best against offenses like Alabama without the running threat at QB or a quick-passing offense. They'll think they'll be able to run on us, but they won't.
In big games, Saban likes to throw the ball around the field when he feels like he has a quarterback that can do so, like he did in the 2009 SEC Championship Game and the national championship last year. However, on the road in a very hostile environment, I don't think he'll want to throw it quite as much.
They'll be some turnovers and some big plays. For the most part it'll be a defensive game, but LSU will make some crazy play (like the Peterson reverse two years ago) to swing the game.
LSU 16
Alabama 13

You may very well have one of these scores right

I say that because Saban was defeated at home by one of the most inept college qb's in history. We had already beaten them once. It was a national championship game no doubt, but Bama had much more to prove because we had already beaten them. My .02

You are right. We had time to prepare for bcs loss. We had already proven, with the ineptness of jordan jefferson, that bama was beatable. That said, Saban had much more to play for in the championship game. That motivation works both ways. As you can see, the almighty Saban will occasionally get knocked off his Hi-Horse. Although not often, it can and will happen.

I think we will win as well. AT LSU AT NIGHT. I also think their secondary isn't as good as people make them out to be. I think Mett connects on a long throw at least twice.

The more I look at some of these comments, the more I think we might have a better chance at beating them. A few people make some very good points on here. If we keep it low scoring we def have a chance.

Shouldn't be any excuse to lack a scheme that throws that defense off with an extra week to prepare. Especially since historically, they've been doing the same to us but it isn't happening this year. They will be dinged up by MSU first. Our bodies should be rested and Miles better have a scheme ready.
