Crawfish off of what?? The LSU policy is that a player is suspended for 1 year following a 3rd failed drug tests. We all learned this policy last year when 3 LSU players were suspended for 1 game following their 2nd failed drug test.
I'm sure that at the press conference last week, Les Miles didn't have any notion that Tyrann would be willing to sit out one year, and then want to play football again at LSU. The term "permanent" was used to differentiate between "indefinite suspension" and "he is off the team and won't be back".
So basically, LSU is not crawfishing on anything if TM7 is back on the team in 2013.

And not follow their own policy?
Doesn't look good

He's treated LSU that way, right? Aside from getting him help, you honestly think he is worth the risk? Obviously 99% of the ppl on here do.

Does the policy give discretion to the people in charge to make the decision permanent?
Maybe the people who see this kid every day and have been working with this kid every day feel that this is best for our program and for the kid to part ways.
I dont think people would feel the same way if this had happened to Jarret Fobbs or Rocky Duplesis...just saying

As much as I love watching him play, I hope he is done at LSU. I hope he gets his chance in the NFL and dominates, but I had to have a long conversation with my 11yo son about responsibility, opportunity and why his favorite player ever was no longer a Tiger. I still like the kid and have no ill will for him, but for him to be let back on the team at this point sends a bad message to not only our children but the rest of the players on the team.
As another coach would say, it is time to move on.
But imagine if your 11yr old grows up and fricks up once or twice. Would you just say it's time to move on then?

If my kid fails 3 drug tests at a school with millions on the line...he or she will get a second chance. They would enroll in another school on MY DOLLAR and would learn the importance of an education and making good decisions.
This is where his parents need to parent. It isn't LSU football's responsibility to baby kids and parent them with blind allegiance and a lack of consequences for their actions.

You aren't that naive that you think Mathieu only fricked up once or twice are you?

Wow...yeah you just abandon your kid in that situation. We're talking about football and college here. If i pay my sons tuition and he can't put down the pipe, i have every right to stop paying his fees.

Not like TM was robbing people at gunpoint or sexually assaulting them at knife point.

Doubt it. I imagine you'd want wants best for your kid. Right now the best thing for Tyrann is to stay at LSU, both academically and athletically. He's not a bad kid. I've had the pleasure of being around him outside of LSU and y'all are acting like this kid is running around town terrorizing people. He has a real problem and this is the first time he's had to deal with definite consequences. This is a change of life, one way or the other, for him. I love how people think they can possible put themselves in his shoes right now.

But how many of us would love to have the opportunity he had. Hell there are almost 100 other men on the football team that manage to avoid the peer pressure. TM made his bed (over and over again) and now its time to lay in it.

So making sure he plays football again is important part of fixing his problem?
Noone is judging him as a person. We are saying he broke rules with consequences and therefore should suffer the consequences like the rest of society. Im sure he is a great kid and if him getting better is the most important thing to everyone right now, then football shouldnt be in the discussion until he has truly recovered.

#2 All the players are different. They came from different backgrounds.
Unless you know all of them personally, then don't make that assumption.
#3 Post less.

If he is willing to sit out a year do the right things, then let's take him back with open arms.

I did not argue that, i was just stating that they should all be treated the same. Considering he was the only one removed from the team I have to ASSUME he was the only person caught violating team rules at this time....

In his case yes.

So a year suspension from something that he loves more than anything isn't a big enough consequence for you?

This is still to be decided and will be based on the way he handles the situation now that he is removed from the team...
One could argue "something that he loves more than anything" is actually the drugs in this situation considering that is what he prioritized over his football career at LSU.
