I remember almost driving down from natch. to go party with my brother after the game.
He called and said the roads in tigerland were filled with people celebrating.
Got to go to the sugar bowl that year and just remember it being a blowout by the mid second quarter

They would have played in the national championship had they not lost to LSU. Matt Mauk's QB scrambles were legendary in that game. I remember watching that with about 30 people in an apartment and we almost destroyed the place in joy.

I was 17 watching it at my gf's best friend's house whose stepdad HATED lsu and he was being a big baby about the whole game.

definitely. i was 16 in deep south texas, the only lsu fan i knew was myself and all my friends didn't understand why i wouldn't go out that staurday night until the game was over. that was the same night chris simms shite the bed against colorado and major ALMOST saved the day. most of my friends were longhorn fans so i was really the only one in good spirits.

I was at that game wearing my #18 jersey...everyone was messin with my arse about it, well we saw what happened! hence my handle MAUCKjersey. Went undefeated wearing that jersey and retired it after our 2003 NC.

I was at this game and the sugar bowl. All I can say is wow. Only problem was that this is the time when my drug addiction began. So glad that's over!
