my handle MAUCKjersey. Went undefeated wearing that jersey and retired it after our 2003 NC.
Maybe you should consider bringing it back out for next season, at least for the Oregon game.

What was the reason D James never came back?
I also heard he had a 4th kid on the way. He was one of my all-time favorites

Why the hell did Saban go for it on 4th and 1 with an obvious QB sneak(with and injured QB) from his on 23? What an awful decision.

Greatest LSU game I have ever been to. Me and my friend Ted got on the MARTA, which was full of nothing but Tennessee fans, and it was 75%-25% Tennessee-to-LSU fans in the Georgia Dome, but we pulled off one of the greatest upsets in LSU history.
LSU was down 17-7, and the Tigers outscored the Vols 24-3 the rest of the way with a back-up QB and a back-up RB. Unbelievable. And to think LSU was 4-3 at one point that year, and just two years ago, LSU finished 3-8. Saban did an awesome job rebuilding this program. Glad to have Miles now, but have to give Nicki his props.

my favorite part so far in looking at this clip is the old LSU tigers logo....MAN does that look better than Toonces on the scoreboard, cut-ins, etc.

We were there. We had a blast. Tigers on Saturdaynight and the Saints on Sunday. Both big wins.
We were among all the Tennessee Orange. The Four of us and six other tiger fans around us. The two things I rememember most were 1) a lady Tenn. fan kept being annoying as hell, so I looked at her and said, watch this. She said what? I said watch this touchdown 14 is about to catch. She started laughing at me. Well, the next play was the over throw when Clayton was hide arse open. She looked at me and said, how did you know that play was coming and I said it's a play we like to call on second and long. 2) when the game ended, I called a buddy of mine and said to him, hey do you here that and he's said no, what is it? I looked right at the annoying Tenn. fan and said, yea I know you don't here it, because they don't have shite to say now. It was a great night.

You fricking made my day. I've been waiting years for this.

I was there also... there were roses all over in the stands. If the vols would have won they were playing in the Rose Bowl, so I guess all of their fans brought roses... They were all over the ground after the game. Good time, but very long because we drove up, watched the game and drove back right after... long trip, but that was a good time to be a tiger fan.

Just finished watching the video and heard Rob Sale's name in at center... Played Blackjack with him and Eric Edwards once at the 'Belle'... one of the funniest people I've ever been around. Great time...

Thanks for posting that. That game was a who's who of future NFL players. Plus Derrick Dooley on LSU sideline with John Chavis on Tenn sideline.
We were on the 50 yard line in the middle of a ton of UT fans. Before the game they were talking about where they had already made their hotel reservations in L.A., booked flights, where they were going to eat etc.
It was also my then 4 year old sons very first game and we had him decked out in LSU gear. Before the game, one old UT fan in front of us turned around and said to him, " Son, after this game you'll be a Tennessee fan for life."
One of the best moments of the night for me came right after Mauck scored the last TD, which was to tap that old man on the shoulder and tell him, " I'd say we just made him an LSU fan for life how 'bout you?" Then just watching him walk away.

still maybe my favorite LSU game ever. That started it all. And that was back when it was truly fun to be an LSU fan.

This was my favorite game as an LSU fan. This was the turning point for LSU football and was the start to the golden decade of Tigers' football.
And Verne was on in this game! His best game ever as a broadcaster with LSU; he even got the names right!
