This was my favorite game as an LSU fan. This was the turning point for LSU football and was the start to the golden decade of Tigers' football.
And Verne was on in this game! His best game ever as a broadcaster with LSU; he even got the names right!
And is it just me, or did the band just pump it up one or two levels in this game? Oh, the enthusiam of this game was amazing! Just absolutely loved it!!!!

why is ole jimmy wearing an LSU hat?

His oldest brother was tennessee's starting QB at the time. His other brother was LSU's 3rd string QB or something.
He was definitely cheering for Tennessee, but he was wearing both to support both his brothers I'm sure.

thanks, that was fun.
maybe it's me but i thought the game looked a little rougher than it does today; some hits that would have been flagged nowadays. i liked it.

Wow, this does bring back memories. I didn't recall Rohan returning to the game either. And Mauck made some pretty good pass plays too which I didn't remember either.

Can you somehow upload or get the highlights of the LSU/Oregon State game from 2004?

I would say we did. I was the drum major in 2001, and I remember us going nuts when Mauck starting lighting it up. It was a nice revenge after how disappointing the pep band trip to Tenn turned out to be.
Also we played Pregame about 400 times in the fourth quarter.
The last three games of that 2001 season were electric. The Auburn game in TS to decide who went to the SEC championship, the SEC championship in Atlanta, and the complete dismantling of Illinois at the Sugar Bowl.
Great year!

Love the sign "We are here to miss things up" and LSU did just that to the BCS.

how many more penalties would have been called in todays game. The rapping of the punter, the late hot out of bounds, the clubbing of clausen in the head, the celebration after maulks td run, and we had a clausen on our team?????( 14:32 mark) Was that his brother on tennessee's team??? kinda funny
little bro beat him

You must be a youngin...no? Casey played at Tenn for 3-4 years. Rick was at LSU for several years before he transferred to Tenn, where he came in and embarrassed us on Monday Night football in Tiger Stadium...after we were up 21-0 at halftime. One of the worst for Les, but Katrina and Rita were HUUUUUUUUGE factors

To this day, Vol fans up here in east Tennessee say that was the worst loss they have experienced as Vol fans. It sent the two programs in two totally opposite directions. UT into a tailspin and LSU to new heights of glory. They date that game as the beginning of the 10 year slide that they are still trying to overcome.
