They will be very strong and have a favorable schedule. However, tow programs in the SEC has always struggled with high expectations more than any others and those programs are Ole Miss and Auburn. They just seem to do better when picked 35r or 4th.
They have great QB, but will have to replace some outstanding on o-lineman, and may be suspect in secondary, but very capapble of beating everyone they play. It will not happen I say just like LSU 9-3, 10-2.

When I hear people talking about Ole Myth, I tend to hear "Jevon Snead yada yada yada Jevon Snead blah blah blah Snead yada blah yada blah Jevon Snead yada yada blah blah blah...". It sounds like all their hopes are tied to Snead. This leads me to believe that defenses will be coming after Snead in a big way. Sure he will likely get some big plays, but he will also take a lot of hits. So, I seriously doubt Snead makes it through the season unscathed. I expect that he's going to miss at least 2 games due to injuries, and probably play in some where he is no where near 100%. Without Snead Ole Myth is nothing special. At the end of the season all we are going to hear is a bunch of excuses of what could have been.

A serious question for you Reb fan. How many seniors did Ole Miss lose last year and in what round were they drafted. The year that LSU lost Steltz, Hester, and the others who provided the maturity and leadership on the national championship team, I think a lot of us LSU fans thought we could just plug another talented player out there and things would be the same. As we all know sometimes that just don't happen.

My question to Ole Miss fans would be this - are only tennis players allowed on their "walk of champions?"

To some degree, I can understand why there is more hype about Ole Miss for this season than for any in recent memory. True, Snead is a good QB. Yes, they should have a pretty good defence. Houston Nutt is a good coach. They performed well against sme of the toughest teams in the conference last year. And, of course, they have a ridiculously favorable schedule.
All of that said, is there offense really that great? Aside from Snead, what do they have? Eason was okay last year at RB. although it looks like he may be passed on the depth chart by a frosh (Bolden from BTR). I would call that a question mark. Regardless of who replaces Oher, the O-line will take a bit of a step back this year. And just how good are the guys that Snead will be throwing to? Shay Hodge is pretty good, and then you have...what? A number of decent, but not great receivers?
I'm really not sold. I think that they will be a good team next year. They will not sneak up on Florida again this year. As for the LSU game, I chalk that up as an "L" for Ole Miss as well. That isn't just a "homer" view. There were several, specific, areas that did in the Tigers last year, and all of those areas have been more than adequtely addressed this year.
So, my fearless prediction for Ole Miss is 2nd in the SEC West with a 10-2 record. They'll finish the season at 11-2 with a bowl win. By Ole Miss standards, that's not bad.

Ole Myth chokes worse than a T-model Ford trying to run on MS corn mash! That is the great equalizer: CHOKERS!
And as for the "elementary" nature of using "Ole Myth", you are a myth. I grew up during the Johnny Vaught days and will admit, there were years you owned us. But in modern times, yes, Ole Myth is a myth, you suck, and you choke. Oh, BTW, I live in MS and I rub it in Ole Myth's fans noses every chance I get. I've had PLENTY of opportunities recently. One of the greatest pleasures I've had was seeing Eil Manning trying to get the grass stains off his tail end when he choked and lost the 2003 game. I still watch it occasionally.

Over rated! Snead will be no better than Eli. Good, competitive, but not good enough. We will own them this year!

The Sec West is going to interesting this year, I think LSU will take but it will be extremly tough.
1. LSU
2. Bama
3. Ole Miss

This is their only legitimate chance to win the West and go to Atlanta. But I agree, Nutt has not lived up to expectations historically.
