Trying to justify yourself by breaking down how many 5 star players LSU'S offense has. They have top 10 talent and a barely top 25 coach.

who was ranked higher, Bama or Ole Miss?

I thought 9-3 or 8-4 at the beginning of the season and it still looks like that.

What I didn't expect was the offense to be this pitiful. 107th in total offense after 10 games. RBs, WRs, and TEs who clearly don't know what the play is or where to line up. Blown routes/blown reads. Etc......

I think our OC tries to be too cutesy with the play calling. We never just establish a play and keep going back to it when it works. We're just trying to do too much.

Potential top 5 in the nation. That would surely be a succes in my book. Just keep winning Coach Miles. Even if it is winning ugly.

So what's the problem? Assuming what you are saying above is true, we are actually overachieving. Eh?

You're the one that brought up stars and talent, not me.

You are trying to make LSU better than they really are. They are not the best two loss team in the country and you have them as a top ten team. The Wash win looks like shite now, as does the UGA win. The AU win will look worse after Bama beats them.

Losing one of the two next games justifies all the ongoing concerns based on the talent they have.

so you're saying that ole miss and arkansas have inferior talent...have no quality coaching...and couldn't possibly have the same amount of desire to win as we do? ole miss with nutt and arky with petrino are just as talented as we are and aren't the least bit awed by the 'mystic' that LSU fans like to believe we possess. both games, as past history has shown, will be tough.

100% of the country had Florida and Bama picked ahead of LSU...FIXED.

Please feel free to show me where I have done that. Good luck.... To the contrary, it is YOU that is making LSU out to be better than they really are. If you can't put your head around that statement, I'm sorry. Smart people can.

Ok... so, just to get this on the record, where do you rank LSU?

I think it has been a great "learning" year. Last year we had many problems on defense. There were many problems on offense, but it was chalked up to inexperience. This year we see that there are problems on offens that must be addressed like the defensive problems were. If that is fixed, I really think LSU will play in Arizona January 2011.

we've played 2 games that matter (aka, 2 games against not bad teams) and we lost both

with the non-bad teams, we did struggle to beat UW, vandy, Moo state, and tech

this is what concerns me

By default #11 But By the way they have played there are other teams that could beat them . Like PENN STATE, Oregon would crush them and as of right now I think Stanford would put a whoopin on them.

So far:

win in AThens
blowout of Auburn
competitive in both losses

So FAR...competitive...it all boils down to Ole Miss and Arky, though.

but finishing 10-2 with a 19 year old first year starting QB meets my expectations of our coach and his staff.
j.j. started 2 games last year. what about bama starting a qb who has 0 starts before the season. They'll probably play for a nc, while lsu is barely beating la tech, miss. st & wash.

I would call this season a success to this point. LSU had a very bad offensive game against Florida but at the same time held them to 13 points. Which is something no other team has done this year. The next lowest point allowed to the Gator this year was 23 by both Arkansas and Tennessee.

Alabama was a tough road game which was only a one score difference until the call heard around the country was made which eventually lead to a field goal which gave Alabama the two score lead late.

Havind said that I would say this season has been a success. We played two of the top teams tough and came away with losses many had given us anyway before playing. I say even a 9-3 record will be successful but 10-2 would be pretty awesome. Not to mention a year for Jefferson to learn some things for next year.

Even if we win out, we lost to the two teams we needed to beat (at least one of them) to have a successful season. I expect to win the games we have, not come as close as we did to losing, but win never-the-less.

But losing to Bama and Florida means we had a unsuccessful season, not bad, unsuccessful.

Bama got beat up last week just like LSU did. I am talking about how effective Bama was against a better team than LSU was against a weaker Tech team.
