Then at the end of the game threw them out on the field to signify we were going to the Orange Bowl.
END of the game? Hell, oranges were raining all over the field DURING the game.

remember the Seminole Indian (must have been an LSU student playing the part) being pelted with oranges and the fog rolling in.
You could not find an orange at the grocery stores around campus the next morning. Students were walking in with those old brown bags full of oranges and no one stopped them. Crazy night and the fog rolling in was something out of a horror movie. Horror for FSU.

My wife, then girlfriend, will never forgive me for sitting through a rainy game in Tiger Stadium. As much as I tried to tell her it never rains in TS she just kept giving me that look.
It didn’t help we gave up Bulls preseason tickets with Jordan at the Superdome. The following season he “retired” for the first time.

The night it rained oranges. That was the highlight of my time in the student section.

I was at that game too. Brought a friend who graduated USC.
1982 was a crazy year. Rated #6 they lose on ABC to Miss State. Rebound to beat Florida State and move up to #7. Then the week after in BR we lose to Tulane. OUCH!
Orange Bowl not happy but they play tough and lose to Nebraska 21-20. Frustrating year, that’s for sure.

Ah yes, ole Steve Peleur. He was the answer to the question I asked all those fake assed, sprung out of the woodwork cowgirls fans back in the mid to late 90s.
The question? Who was the starting QB for the cowgirls BEFORE Troy Aikman (I would also accept Steve Walsh or Gary Hogeboom). Less than 25% knew the answer. Those asshats are the EPITOME of band wagon jumpers. You'll see it again after Jones croaks and/if they start winning big again.
