LSU team that played Ga Tech in Chick-Fila bowl (08) vs LSU team that played Penn St in Capital One bowl (09). Who wins?

On which field are we playing? If in the swamp field in Orlando I think 08 wins, if on the turf of the GA Dome I think 09 wins.

Riiight. The only teams with as few as 8 losses since Coach Miles has been here are Texas and Boise, both with 8.

The only team in the SEC with fewer losses than LSU in the time that Miles has been here is Florida with 10.

Uhh, yes- we were. What is your definition of competitive????

The four games we lost? Those teams had a combined total record of 47-7. We lost those games by a total of 23 points. How many other teams with similar records can say that????

Don't make me laugh.

we were not competive vs Florida no matter how you try to spin it. 2 to 1 yards and almost 2-1 first downs. the score was way closer than the game was, not that 10 is close especially in your home stadium. most people even on here will admit that.

Okay- we were not competitive against Florida- except for the score.
The number one team in the country is in a 3-3 game with us until :50 left til halftime. It stayed 10-3 until 7:27 left in the game.

Yeah- it was a blowout.

:sarcasm: i hope.

it means nothing if you lose. the only time it matters if you get doubled in yardage and first downs is if you win somehow which we weren't close to doing. LSU was never a threat and the 2nd half.

So by that logic then what does the Arkansas, Mississippi State, La Tech, and Georgia games mean.... they were competitive with LSU and coulda/shoulda/woulda beat LSU???

Coming from a Vandy fan, that's amusing.

yea pretty much. Arkansas needs to make a field goal, Mo St needs to not have a case of the LSUs at the goal line, la Tech did beat us for half the game, to bad for them there was another 30 minutes to play, and UGa needs to learn how to wrap up. The national champion every year is the team where all the shoulda coulda wouldas break there way. It why it take almost as much luck as skill to get to the game in the first place.

Well i hope that helps you sleep better at night because the score was close in your opinion even though 10 isn't really close in your home stadium. we were only able to generate 3 points in 60 minutes of football. they beat us by 2 scores and we couldn't even cross midfield much less get in position to kick a fg much less score a td. geez!

FLorida did enough to win and that's all they were worried about doing. It was evident on the field. Not to mention that their heisman winning qb was probably at only about 75% coming off a concussion. they manhandled LSU that day. plain and simple.

they manhandled our offense, but I would say they just kept our overall team in check. Manhandled is what they did to us in 08.

dont you know that the coulda woulda shoulda, missed call here or there only comes into the conversation if LSU is on the short end of the stick?

Florida was better than us- I'm not disputing that. But to say that game was the slaughter they put on us in 08 just isn't being accurate.

As as game performance goes, if it's evident on the field that "LSU's doing just enough to win" and squeaks by the competition to come into the Alabama game unbeaten, would you be willing to give Miles the benefit of the doubt?

not my problem thats the best they could put on the field that night. If they felt they were better than that they shoulda proved it on the field. They didnt and it will stay that way.

If you go 0-10 one year, and 10-0 the next year, you have a record of 10-10, which does not give you any idea of how good or bad the coach is.

It's very simple.

he is 51-15 but look at the position we are in right now. We are predicted to finish 4th in the sec west and we are barely ranked. Plus our qb situation is awful atm.
