I agree. ND is in the same position alabama was in when we hired Saban. The fans had had enough of the bullshite coaches and Mal Moore knew he had to hit it out of the park.
I do not think Saban will leave alabama to go to ND but I could be wrong. Meyer on the other hand I think is a possibility.

couldn't agree more BamaScoop. This has to be an "Oh $hit" hire (i.e. Other programs say "Oh $hit, they're done screwing around in South Bend") They definately have a chance to hit it out of the park and the program is leaps and bounds better than it was when Weis took the job. Ty left the place in utter chaos.

Weiss has offered some stability to the program but he just isn't getting it done. He has some great players on that team I just think they need better coaching.
Notre Dame can pull top talent from the entire nation with the right head coach. They are going to have to hire a proven HC that has won a championship.
I have heard that Bob Stoops has said he would be interested in the job if Weiss is fired. It will truly be a national coaching search.

Your comment doesn't make sense.

Would you take the BEFORE or AFTER if the bet was December 24 that we hear Saban say, "I will not be the next coach at the University of Notre Dame."

I would love to get Urban out of the SEC.

A DC area paper had a little blurb listing Miles as in the Top 3 for this job.

The Catholics don't want Saban. Just his name alone would cause another controversy. When money talks, Saban walks! It could happen........
I hope they take Meyer. We need to keep Saban so we can rough him up the next few years!

Brian Kelly to Notre Dame

Not sure if they will, but ND could throw enough money at Saban. But I believe the only way he would go, would be an ego thing. And we all know he has a big ego. In his mind, he could turn around the "perceived" Meca of College Football. Bama is a good notch on his belt, but honestly they weren't in as bad of shape as ND is right now.
You can bet that Sexton will be throwing Saban's name around.

I think if Saban wins the NC this year, he would be more likely to jump ship as he seems to enjoy the thrill of the chase more than anything. However he would need to take the job some time in December, which would definitely frick with Bama's preparation in the event they beat Florida in the SEC championship game and head to the NC game. If ND were looking after next season and Saban has won the NC this year, I'd be worried about Saban if I were a Bama fan. Stoops sounds like a viable choice since it'll be much easier to leave Oklahoma after having a season such as the one they're having right now, especially with Bradford leaving.

It is a good thing ND doesn't pay him by the pound.

Nick Saban is not a candidate, period. I would love for him to be but he is not leaving the Capstone for ND.

Remove Jesus from the statues across campus and replace him with Nick. That would get him to South Bend.

I really think that ND does have to hit a homerun with this next hire and why would they not throw the kitchen sink at Coach Meyer. We as LSU fans can say all we want to about him not being as great a coach with Tebow but I believe he won his first National championship with Chris Leak at the helm with Tebow playing a supporting role. Coach Meyer was very successful at Bowling Green then Utah and obviously at UF. Why would Notre Dame not try everything in its power to land him. Maybe BriaN Kelly as a second choice but doesn't he have some baggage about a player getting into trouble and he kind of turned the other way. I don't know , it just seems to me that the home run hire even better than Saban or Stoops would be Meyer.

Just bitter, wishful thinking from LSU fans. Meyer or Stoops might go, but not Saban. Someone on Rivals radio this morning said ND actually doesnt like Brian Kelly too much due to his having an extramarital affair or some stupid shite like that.

I wasn't saying that Saban WAS a candidate. It's just that once he wins at Bama, he may lose that spark and have an itch for another challenge, unless he's changed and actually is looking to settle down.
ETA: I will admit that I want Saban away from Bama and the SEC unless he happens to coach at LSU again. So yeah, I'd love for him to be hired away from the SEC, especially the West.
