We lose in overtime to a top team in a down year and you people are having the most epic melt in history. Should be ashamed.
How about some context for you. We lost to them last year with a QB who's just had two strong starts in the NFL and two receivers who are also doing well. We also lost to them in 2012, at night, in Tiger Stadium, in another impressive choke job. Oh, we lost earlier in 2012 to them in the Super Dome. You may have heard about that game. In fact, since Saban really got them going in 2008, we've won twice and lost six times. They also won 3 National titles to our big fat Ofer. No real trend though. We're totally equals. It's not as though they literally took a title from us and possibly cost us one more.

Facts ALL over in this post..............

And you think this justifies your epic melt down? What a vagina you are.

I don't see how anyone can sugarcoat ANOTHER loss to Bama. As said earlier in this thread- Miles has become Schembechler. The coach who loses often against the team it counts the most to beat. Les Miles is really good at getting our hopes up only to let us down when it counts the most.
I do think he had really bad luck drawing Bama again in 2011 but instead of saying that stupid "I'd be honored to play that team again" bs he should have said why should we have to play them again when we just beat them in their stadium when they had a bye before the game.
But whatever. He will just tell us next yr how much he likes his team and how we expect to play for victory, blah blah blah. I like the guy, but I'm tired of his meaningless words. He's right about dreams dying in tiger stadium--ours.

Tigerdroppings would not have made it through the Hallman years.

Yep totally agree. I am ready to take a chance and see what other coaches are out there.
I know "youth" isn't the greatest excuse, but it's still relevant. This team has grown up from what we saw against MSU and Auburn. And the near future looks bright.
Or we can trade consistency with this coaching staff, push them out, and run the gamble of falling into mediocrity.
I like what we have and I'm not giving up on LM and Co just yet.

I've laid out nothing but facts and observations. Maybe it makes me feel better to share what I'm thinking with other fans. It really was confirmed to me last night (though I'd suspected at various time) that Bama does and will continue to stand between us and division, conference, and national titles--and that's a damned shame, because our record against them has been abysmal since Saban's arrival. If being able to realize and articulate the truth makes me a pussy, so be it. But according to the way I was brought up, there's nothing "pussified" about speaking the truth. We did have a word for people who couldn't face the truth or stick to the point in an argument, and who loved resorting to whining and name-calling when they weren't getting their way.
The word was women. If you're a woman, I guess that's cool. Otherwise, you might want to do a mirror check before you start calling others "vagina".

Dude, you are just having a post-game meltdown. Don't try to put sprinkles on it.

Stating facts isn't having a meltdown nor is it being a vagina
This is a message board about the LSU football team where fans can voice their displeasures, and he's just stating facts. I'm sure OP realizes it's just a football game.

I've felt this way all along. I understand that he wanted to be a stand-up guy and not seem scared, but no team should have to have played that squad twice in one season. As I posted before, that clearly was a case in which one might say "if these two teams played 10 times, they'd go 5-5" (though it could have gone 6-4). That means that every time we played, their chance of winning increased (as they were bound to get their wins in sooner or later). I would have raised holy hell if I were Miles (quietly and behind the scenes).

Do I need to list the real-life shite I've "managed" to accomplish today after last night's shitty loss. This was the most disappointed I've felt after a loss since 1/9, but I'm not melting worth a shite. It actually feels a little better to accept the fact that winning west titles will probably be a once every 5-6 years thing vice a once every 2-3, and that Bama is simply a stronger program right now. One of my most valued mentors once told me that managing expectations is key to both successful leadership and personal happiness.

Navy, I agree with your post. Nothing I can see to counter it. I have said as much on a number of occasions, but get told that I am a terrible poster. I am just calling it as I see it because I have high expectations. I think those need some management as you may say.

We have half of an offense, and you need more than that to win in the college game today.
Yes. This is my point exactly, but it is lost on the purple colored glasses crowd. I do not see why opinions that are not rose colored are viewed as being negative. How can one look at the positive in a loss that should have been a win. This team's offense, again, is anemic. That is just a fact. People can hurl all the epithets they wish at me, but that is just a reflection of their anger with this program's performance or that they are zealot defenders of also-rans. OK. I get it. I just disagree.

So you want to ban me for saying our dream of paying Saban back for 1/9 is dead?
We needed 2012 in the worst way and choked. Now we shite the bed again. There's always next yr w a "damn strong" team I'm sure. We get to hear all about it during spring and fall ball. Maybe we make a run again w Miles, maybe we don't.
Ill believe it when, and if, I see it. Otherwise I'll expect to be let down as long as Les leads my alma mater's team. The only way I can make it known is through my wallet, and I am. I am so glad I didn't waste money on flights and overpriced tickets to witness that in person after spending all that $$ to see 1/9 and 2012.
Maybe I'm a slow learner, but at least I have learned.

Yup - current status sucks - especially when snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, like last night.
However, current crop can grow into red team beaters - I'm confident of that.

If I'd dropped a few grand on that game (I considered it, but was stationed in Germany at the time and couldn't make my schedule work), I would probably still be in an insane asylum. I was hurting after that game, and my only consolation was "at least I'm not one of those poor bastards who spent $5K to watch this shite".
