Dude (not me) didn't even start last year, so how does that make him a big NFL prospect??

HOW IS THAT?? HE HASN'T BEEN PLAYING!!
HE'LL GET A CHANCE TO PROVE HIMSELF THIS SEASON, BUT IF I WAS A PRO SCOUT...WHY WOULD I GET EXCITED ABOUT SOMEBODY THAT DOESN'T START ??

There are not many 6'4" 325 lb guys that have his speed and quickness. That is why he is destined for the NFL. I agree, he needs the breakout year before he leaves. A 60 tackle season and he is gone.
From LSU Sports net:
Physically imposing defensive lineman who gives LSU one of the nation’s best tandems at left tackle ... Will backup Charles Alexander at the position in 2008 ... Played in six games as a true freshman in 2006 ... Does an outstanding job against both the run and the pass with great strength ... Projected to be an NFL Draft first round pick when his college playing days are finished ... Has seen action in 18 career games.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2007)
One of the top backup defensive linemen on the squad and in the SEC ... Played in 12 of the Tigers’ 14 games, including the BCS National Championship Game ... Finished the year with 22 tackles – 13 solo and nine assisted – with two sacks for a loss of 15 yards ... His three fumble recoveries tied for the SEC lead with South Carolina’s Eric Norwood ... Added one quarterback hurry ... Earned his first career start against Tulane, getting the nod at right tackle ... Finished the game with two tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery ... Registered a career-high five tackles in the win over Louisiana Tech ... Had four stops vs. Tennessee in the SEC Championship Game.

If Al Woods went to a school that runs a 2 gap scheme he would be on All American teams right now.

FALSE. RJF Didn't play during the regular season. They had FAVORITE ahead of him. if he was that good, coaches would have had WOODS starting on the front four.

Woods didn't fit into our system last year.
Like I said, he'd be starting for everyone else in the country.

Do you understand the concept of 1gap DTs versus 2gap DTs?

Why the anger Riverboat? You started the thread asking for input on the 3 DTs referenced above. We are responding to your request for "thoughts". Nothing more - peace.
Who is the best of the three ?
Alexander - was hurt all last year so I don't know much about his abilities.
Woods - IS this really big guy who hasn't impressed me other than being "a really big guy". Watching him play last year, I thought he looked slow.
Nevis - Young buck. Looks stout. Don't know much about him either.
Thoughts?

Is FAVORITE not a DT ??

The Edge....South Florida?? You know....you can go f*ck yourself.
My point here is that I think Woods is somewhat slow and overrated. Schemes... gaps, what have yous...I watched him last season.
