This would be funny if you weren't actually serious.
So you honestly think that a University employee is going to be removed because
an unknown poster on TD is bitching and a few hundred like minded dufuses want top administrators fired? I would love to see the cause for termination given to these contractually employed executives. How long do you think it would take a lawyer to sue the shite out of LSU? In addition, just imagine trying to hire a replacement to a school where an internet dweeb can get a school President fired over a coach going 9-4. Lol.
Lastly, if Ensminger is the choice of Orgeron then so be it. Ensminger is qualified as he has been an OC at Clemson, A&M, and UGA. Some of you obviously young farts continue to call Ensminger old but he is just 59 and coaches move into new positions and get promoted all the time.
Some of you need to grow up. Lol.

Dude you are way too smart for the people in this thread. Things are not near as bad as this board is making it out to be. I wouldn't promote ensminger but there are people much closer to the situation than me. Whether they fail or do well things will work itself out.

I understand and agree with the general sentiment of the OP. My reason for writing is infomational. This is a very emotional issue for many, and I understand quite a few will email the listed members of the BOS. Please be lenient with Lauren Johnson, the last member listed. She is a 21 year old student herself, and is on the BOS as a student rep. I'm not sure she has any voting power. She's a big girl and can handle herself, but just bear in mind she graduated from high school in 2015. In other words, she's not one of the "fat cats"

As I've stated previously, the LSU BOS should either be abolished altogether or completely removed from all LSU Athletic decisions regarding approval of Athletic Director and Coaching contracts. They should have no say or impact.
Barring abolishment of the board, all members should be required to be graduates of Louisiana State University and should be elected by the public. (Not political "Cronyistic" appointments by the Governor of Louisiana)
How you would initiate the process of having any one of these done is a legal question for an Attorney.
Hey (Fightin Tigers) Tiger Bait Lawyer, how would you initiate this from a legal point of view?

I’m the search? Okay... I’ll side with the internet dweeb.

Putting athletics outside the BOS jurisdiction is an interesting idea. Currently, being able to get elite treatment in tix/ seating and hobnobbing with players and coaches is one of the perks and primary reasons some want to be on the BOS.
The University is in terrible shape and we need folks who are interested in improving it financially and academically. Maybe taking the athletics outside their jurisdiction would get more serious minded folks appointed.

How can a board that runs all aspects of the university, including campuses and medical schools across the state, not oversee athletics? They oversee LSU, LSUS, LSUA, LSUE athletics, along with all aspects of the university.

Should LSU fire Orgeron without cause after the 2017 season, the school would owe him $12 million. That number drops to $8.5 million in 2018, $6 million in ’19, $4.5 million in 2020 and $1 million in ’21.
Holy shite. I did not know this.
Alleva's negotiating skills are at a 5 year old level. And this is the guy representing LSU athletics?

Hi all,
I don't post very often, but I thought this one needed to be back at the top, so BUMP.
Apologies if redundant.
Cheers,
K

Cool, keep bumping.
As more and more money dries up, change will follow.

This whole movement seems to have really made a difference in this hire.
