How do we have an advantage here?

Wow seriously?

Bye weeks:
LSU: Bama and Texas A&M
Bama: Texas A&M and Auburn
Texas A&M: Bama and Auburn

You don't see how one of those is more conducive to an undefeated season?

You're having too much trouble understanding that no one has a bye week advantage in 2014.

I kind of know a lot of things, but that doesn't mean I need to come here and tell others if the only knew as much as me they would understand the complexity of college football scheduling.

We all know it's complex. We are just tired of getting the short end of the straw as we have in the last few years complex or not.

EXACTLY!!!!!

But these idiots want to keep arguing for this and for that, when this is pretty much what it boils down to.

I could if this were correct

quote:

Bye weeks:
LSU: Bama and Texas A&M
Bama: Texas A&M and Auburn
Texas A&M: Bama and Auburn

But it's this

Bye weeks:
LSU: Bama and A&M
Bama: LSU and Auburn
A&M: LSU and Auburn

Yeah, obviously I screwed that up when typing it out. I don't understand how you can't see how that is advantage LSU.

When do you think Alabama would like to have their bye weeks?

What about A&M?

I can't believe you're still trying to reason with these people. Never get in the way of an irrational LSU fan that needs to bitch about something.

Fire Alleva(never mind the fact that top-to-bottom, LSU athletics is in a better state than it ever has been)!!!!

So before UF and LSU? That only proves my point further that LSU having it's byes before it's biggest SEC WEST opponents makes the path easier to a SEC WEST title and SEC championship birth.

Dude they would clearly rather a bye before UF than they would a A&M team without Manziel. If you cant agree with that then it is your own damn fault.

Why? A&M has been tearing up the recruiting trail, has an elite coach and an SEC west game is more important than and a game against an east opponent.

Bottom line is LSU wanted byes before Bama and A&M and got them, yet all you can do is cry about how the game will ruin your thanksgiving.

And Florida hasnt? Bama finally gets a tough east game and they pad it with a bye. Quit taking up for them. You have absolutely no proof that the other teams dont want their byes then. You honestly think LSU is the only team that picked their byes?

Probably not, but I know LSU got the byes they wanted, but this whole thread has been about Alleva not doing shite because of an inconvenience for you.

OK. I'll try this again.

LSU and A&M both have byes before they play each other. There is no bye week advantage there.

LSU and Bama both have byes before they play each other. There is no bye week advantage there.

Neither Bama or A&M have byes before they play each other. There is no bye week advantage there.

Bama and A&M bothe have bye weeks before they play Auburn. There is no bye week advantage there.

As far as bye weeks go nobody has it any easier or tougher than anyone else. It is completely fair to all three teams with no advantage going to either one.

If this is the bone that Alleva fought so hard to get thrown our way then he was taken for a sucker.

No one is saying that anything Alleva did was ground-breaking and will change the face of LSU sports. He was faced with playing a game on Thanksgiving, and out of that, he managed to get us bye weeks before our two toughest games, while rendering the fact that we play on Thanksgiving irrelevant to the players, as it won't be a short week of rest. Oh no! A few LSU fans are upset that they have to ignore their relatives for 4 hours and watch a football game! Fire that son of a bitch!

What were you hoping for? 3 bye weeks? I'm sure you'd find a way to problem with that too.

My only question in all this, which has remained unanswered, is that given we know CBS can and does dictate which games get played when and at what time (the Friday game was their deal from the get go) why on earth would they willingly give up the Friday game every other year so that A&M can play a game on Thanksgiving forcing CBS to lose the game? If CBS can be told to go piss up a rope in odd years, why can they be told the same in even?

Not sure if answered but I'm going crazy reading this broken record question

Answer: CBS can chose which game(s) it wants on a given weekend but it cannot/will not broadcast a Thursday game regardless of Thanksgiving or not. Furthermore, CBS has ZERO say on SEC scheduling, it DID NOT "give up" a good game and LET the A&M/LSU game move to Thursday, it had absolutely no say in the matter. So why the move?

OBVIOUS: SEC Network and cash money

Yes, A&M wants the game on T-giving, but if you fools don't think the SEC wants this game on the SEC network you crazy. Nobody says it has to beat out an NFL game but it's still making more money by having one great SEC game on Thursday night.

We get two choices for return trip:

1) Play on T-giving at night in Tiger Stadium (at night but TD still implodes and breaks the internet)

2) Request it not played on T-giving and it's played based on normal TV requests (CBS vs ESPN)

I agree that Little Nicky gets his way with the Iron Bowl on Sat., but y'all just gonna have to deal with that cuz ain't no LSU AD gonna change the Bama love coming from Birmingham!

The point is that he's trying to tell me "Hey, I didn't want to play on Thanksgiving day either but I managed to at least get us bye week out of it." When we really didn't get anything out of it. A&M got to keep their Thanksgiving Day tradition and a bye week out of it. It's not like the SEC said "OK A&M, you get your Thanksgiving Day game but LSU gets a bye and you get yours before Auburn and whatever other shite team you play this year."

Alleva is trying to piss on my shoes and tell me it's raining. Maybe your stupid enough to buy it but I'm not.
