Thats an aweful way to compare coaching ability..

You really think that Charlie Mac is the 5th best LSU coach?

I have been a harsh critic of coach Miles but I have gained respect for him and his decision to stay at LSU. 62 wins in 79 games. He may be a goofball at times, but so am I when it comes to my job. He is our goofball and I will be right behind him supporting him from now on.

I have learned this year...that coaches like Mark ricth of Georgia and Nick Saban do suffer losses as well and we have a pretty good thing going with Les. Maybe we could not win the SEC West the past two seasons but the very best team in the land did. We are in the SEC, the very best football conference in America hands down.

Thank you coach Miles for staying. I am going to support you and the players for years to come. I know one thing...we might continue to be surprised at times with clock management and watching close games go down to the last second, but coach Miles, you bring excitement to TigerNation and from this day forward, I am going to support the program..win or lose.

I'd argue he is -- behind Miles, Saban, Arnsparger, and Dietzel.

Happy for continuity. Les is a good man and the players love playing for him. With four 11 win seasons equaled by a only a few coaches, you can't be too upset? And Les did in 6 seasons. Now Les has to evaluate the coaches, the players and himself and make corrections that will make the team better next year. I am sure he will.

That is just part of the story, but one measure. Then you can look at bowl games, rankings, championships, division championshipes (see post above), etc., and longevity. Charlie Mac would certainly rank behind Miles, Saban, Deitzel. Arnsparger ranks higher in win percentage, but had a much shorter career, which matters.

Basically, I don't think there is much question that Miles and Saban are the two best coaches in LSU history. Miles has the higher winning percentage of the two. Saban has two SEC championships. But for Katrina, I am convinced that Miles would have had 2 also.

his public speaking is open to mockery,
but his team is damn strong.

I am glad he stayed.

People have to accept him for what he is. He is not slick.
He is a good guy.

Where are all the nagatigers who wanted him fired at 8-1? When he kept playing a QB that sucked eggs when the other QB had pulled out two wins for us in the last minutes of Tenn and Fla game? I thought for sure we'd hear some more from those guys.

Happy...unless LSU had to pay to keep him and he was using Michigan as leverage for a better deal.
