he is a very talented athlete that spreads the field very well- however the strength of LSU D has been speed from sideline to sideline. if he is to have success against lsu d he will have to spread us north and south with the pass. i do believe they will score some since it is our first game with 2 new lb's but the true question of the game is can they stop our run game?

f you hadn't have pulled out that epic once in a lifetime win over an eventual bcs bowl team, what would you have been ranked in the Sagarin?
prolly somewhere in the 50's ahead of UNI.
whats your point?

App. St. would not have a winning record if you played a d-1 schedule right now. If you think otherwise you are a moron.
we have a d-1 schedule. i guess you were attempting to be condescending. cool.
why are we talking about hypotheticals?

How is that ignorant? I belive that there are 75-80 teams in D-1 that would beat App. St. Are you that high on AE that you do not see that?
You can't be serious. We would probably roll against the lower half of 1A/FBS schools IMO. Theres a reason no one wanted to schedule us besides Michigan last year and you this year.

53 on sagarin, actually

We are division 1, you are just coming off as possibly the most ignorant Tiger fan i have seen yet resorting to name calling

SEC or ACC maybe, but any other conference I completely disagree. Besides the fact that we have less scholarships which would make it unfair to begin with.

The OR is right...App would have a winning record if they played in the ACC. Clemson plays two D1-AA opponents(guarantee wins) and on top of that we have a Duke game. That means App would only have to pull off 3 more wins to get to a bowl. I think the SEC is the only conference they couldn't play in. And to all you jackasses, Pat White isn't even 200 lbs. Armanti is sitting at 190-195 lbs(yes he gained 15 lbs over the summer) with the equal agility and speed of Mr. White. That should say enough about his ability to run the offense of a good football team. Especially since both of them were considered "athletes" coming out of high school

Success agaist this speedy defense will be 200yds in the air and 50 on the ground. It will take alot then App "trying" to pass north-south on a team who has more speed. It will take a couple of turnovers and some good field position from kickoff returns

What team is he on and in what division....question answered.....
Two words for you:
Ryan Perilloux (sp?)........
Because he plays 1-AA football does that automatically make him worse than every other starting 1-A QB? Yeah he transfered from a 1-A power......so I'll go a different route.
Tony Romo.....
Since he played at a 1-AA school that makes him worse than every other 1-A QB during his time. I bet he's laughing at all the QB's that came out of high school that year and played college ball now.......

Name the 75-80 teams. We'll wait.

MMMMKkk pal. You're right. App is great. Prob a top 10 team. AE should have a claim to this years heisman. You beat Michigan, great. If you start playing Division 1 and have a winning record I will give you props but until then you will always be that little team that beat Michigan to 90% of the football world. Congrats, Im done

He is a good player....he is possibly a great athlete. But here's the problem.....football is a team game, and from top to bottom there is no doubt that LSU is a better football team. You might ask where that gap is the most noticeable....the offensive and defensive fronts. Compare the sizes, compare the experience. That will be the reason that Edwards would struggle against LSU, not because he is not a great talent, but because you've got to have help.

top to bottom better? thanks cap'n obvious
comparing:
size - yes
depth - yes
speed - maybe but not by much. our boys are blazing fast.
experience - no. who's starting qb again?
how does LSU have more experience? our secondary is the only position not returning starters. everything else is deep and with evenly spread PT due to injuries last season.

App would have won the Sun Belt, MAC, and CUSA easily last year.

I agree with that. But there was a rumor going around last year about Michigan trying to lure AE to Ann Arbor once RR got. I compare AE to Pat White, except AE is a MUCH, BIG TIME MUCH better passer than Pat. But you wonder if he could start for some programs at the D-1 level? Sure
Oregon
Michigan
Baylor
Houston
Indiana
Cincy
Wake Forest
well notice one similarity of all the schools I listed that he probably could start at. They all run t=he spread. Dude is unreal.

Read it again slap nuts, I was talking about up front, that would be the offensive and defensive lines in case you were wondering. You missed the whole point of my post, and after reading yours that's not really surprising. You managed to take a post that complemented your team and make it sound like a shot.
I did at some point have respect for your program....and that is quickly fading. Keep trying to make yourself feel big time......Have a great day.

Whay are we debating anything on this board with someone whose profile says they are a Tar Hole fan???? Armanti would easily be the best play on that team but I doubt he would want to play for a LOSER!!!!!!
They are too chickensh-t to play us. I hope McNeese slpas the crap outta you!!!!!
Anybody who thinks that there are 80 too 90 teams better than App in the popularity division (known as FBS) doesn't know their football.

How about this , no one can answer any of those questions until Aug 30 because we only play one 1a team a year.
Everything about him is speculation when it comes to comparing him to Top 25 teams and QB's.
I've not seen him play but based on what I've read and heard about him he's the real deal. I just don't think he will handle the pressure of the LSU defense or the crowd. Chad Jones, Ricky Jean-Francois, et al will simply stomp him into the turf of Tiger Stadium. I hope he doesn't get hurt.

well they call him a "star QB" under the picture of him in todays USA Today sports page...good enough for me...
oh, and it mentions you guys too
Posted on 7/10/08 at 2:13 pm to yosefsgotagun
What do you guys want me to say?
That AE is a good athlete? He is
That App is great at the D-II level? They are
That Appy could compete at the next level? They could not IMO
That AE is going to make a difference with the players he has around him and cover the spread in TS? He will not
BTW, you can change your team affiliation fairly easily. See watch
<----------------------
Was it North Carolinas stadium in my sig pic that convinced you I was a fan or my numerous posts about NC?
