and you're the perfect judge of this since you make so many games
These 'superfans' are all so full of fricking shite.

We clearly haven't been going to the same Tiger Stadium over the last 10 years, because I'm calling bullshite on that.
However, your noble idealism is duly noted. I'm sure we're all very impressed.

Doesn't it affect how the players feel? Wouldn't it affect potential recruits? I heard that the #1 QB prospect was at this game (if that's even true). I just wonder how it affects their viewpoints, if at all.

C'mon man....let's use logic here. If the guy lives too far away then that's just it. If you buy season tickets and are IN the stadium already, how hard is it to STAY!?!

People having been leaving games early during blowout games since I started going to them in the early 70's. I'm sure it was happening before then as well. These people saying that it's a new phenomenon occurring over the last decade are simply blowhards trying to convince themselves and others that when "they" used to attend games, it was sooooooooo much better. They were suuuuuch better fans. Don't fall for that crap.

Who is anybody to castigate others for leaving early? The people who leave early buy their tickets too, same as you and I. What business is it of others if they want or need to leave early?

Ah yes, revealing yourself as a gentleman and a scholar.
It is logical to conclude that fans who leave early have less dedication to the programs they root for than those who stay until the end. It's not a controversial point, it just (obviously) makes you defensive, since you've now resorted to swearing at women.

If you want to leave early its your choice and its a free country.
But, here are some good reasons to stick around:
1. Support the kids who made a choice to come to LSU and who work hard in practice to represent LSU well.
2. Winning is fun - especially when you're beating the crap out of big time conference rivals - enjoy it, savor it.
3. There are only 6 or 7 Saturdays a year to be in Tiger Stadium. What's the rush to leave?
4. Yes, it does look bad on tv and has been commented on many times by announcers.
5. A full Tiger Stadium is louder than a half-full Tiger Stadium - we need you early leavers.

if for some god awful reason LSU ever returns to the days of 3and9 tiger stadium will be empty based on the fans holding tickets now.

REALLY? The players don't care at all? Like I posted, I'm a girl so I've never played, unless you count bloomer bowl in high school,
Just seems to me all the "electric atmosphere" goes out with the people, ya know...so kinda a buzzkill at the end of the game for such a blowout. Let me put it in terms all the boys can understand: It'd be like sex without an orgasm. JMO

If you stay in the stands for about 20 minutes after the game is over, you will have an easy walk out, and the traffic will be much lighter. Unless the weather is really bad, this is what I do. You can listen to the postgame radio show to kill the time. Of course, some people may be in a hurry to leave, so....go.

I could just as easily make the case that people who attend EVERY game, yet leave w/ 5 minutes left in a blowout are more dedicated to the program than people who only make 3 or 4 games a year (regardless of where they live) and stay the whole time.

no it is not
Yes, it does. The fans who stay until the end have obviously made a decision that staying and supporting their team is a greater priority than (a) beating traffic; or (b) sitting on the asses or (c) having dinner at Sullivans; or (c) returning to their tailgate for another beer; or (d) whetever other nonsense early leavers do. Meanwhile, early leavers have subordinated support of their team to some other priority that they deem more presing.

yeah real fans don't do this
I don't know about "real fans," but intelligent, secure men don't typically call women "bitches" because they disagree about attending football games.

Don't know...that's why I'm asking how it affects the players. If it doesn't bother them then I suppose it's no big deal. Guess I have a hard time believing they don't care that the fans aren't there through the entire game.
