Quit being a selfish prick. Adding those words does not increase the Tiger Stadium experience and it certainly isn't unique or creative
Your so right man its definitely not unique and creative because every other school does it too. I'm not gonna call you a "selfish prick" or any other derogatory phrase because this is over the internet, and thats just childish.
All of you need to quit your arguing for banning neck because all of the profanity will worsen with your ever intensifying arguments. Let it go, let it be, students will be students. There is no getting around that.

I read the posts about the current student section and all I can think is how much more, polite for better lack of another term, that they are compared to 30 years ago. The booze used to just ooze from the stadium and there was no escaping it. The obnoxiousness along with a student body that had a great command of "French" was a part of the LSU atmosphere. People that were much worse than the current students now want the current student body to be "better behaved." It is rather funny to me and some of us older ones that aren't going to pretend we were so much better because we weren't. Honestly, we were much worse.

I dunno, I'm still browsing through the Disney site. there's some movie stuff I didn't know about on here about tron.....might take the fam to see that after all.
I know Jeff Bridges is in this one. Does he play the same character? Is it a sequel to the original?

I'd have to agree. Unfortunately, you can't legislate or "force" creativity into the student section
I agree with both of you. I am 35 and took my 6 year old to AU to his first road game. Some students a couple of rows behind us (LSU section) were saying those words. I asked them to quit and they responded by changing it to "suck that tiger d. bitch" Everytime it came to that line I just let out a Ric Flair "WHOOOOOO!" so my son wouldn't ask me what they were saying. Of course we can't force the students to not say those words (Unless the song is banned by LSU admin. BTW, that might be coming soon.) It's sad that they won't quit, knowing we lost Tiger Rag due to the cussing and they will probably lose their beloved "neck" song next. Saying those words adds nothing to the TS experience or the game.

There are actually several things the university/police can do in response to it.
Please enlighten me on how the police and the university can successfully insert creativity that isn't vulgar into the student body.
If you can give me a list of 5 things they can do, I'll be more than happy to concede that a group of individuals can successfully make a larger group of people creative by using your proposed methods.

I would always yell something really nice to counter it like "I really like my team" or "I must admit their team is good". The students around me thought it was funny.

This is the gayest thread ever!
This is a board to speak about Tiger Football.....bring this nonsense to the OT.

Ban the cheerleaders for egging the band on

yes, almost every other school has students who know how to curse.
Now owe-e-owe and Tiger Rag were pretty unique to LSU, but those got taken away.

You are right, it will worsen until LSU takes the song away. Its already happened during my time at LSU.

You can't even link the appropriate response to the proper person...kid...

In my opinion, this is a game of college students for college students. This isn't the pros. It's just like when you go to a HS football game, you realize it's for the HS students. If the college students want to be loud, obnoxious, vulgar and stupid... well it's their house, not mine. If you want to take your kids to a family friendly environment, go see the Saints...

There is no doubt in my mind that neck will be taken away. Its only a matter of time before it is gone and eventually replaced with another song. The next song will have profanity added to it by the students and so on and so forth.
And yes, all other schools know how to curse, but few work it into songs like we do.

I don't know, they can be pretty creative over at USC.
but you get it as well. A lot of people here don't.

If you insert the word "gun" for neck, this is a lot like a political argument that has been waged for decades now.
