Yes, LAT, we had a lot of alcohol back in the day but the only chant I remember from those days was something about the Florida State Semi-holes being a half-arse team. I don't remember anything to the level of "suck that tiger dick" being heard loud and clear across the stadium (and on TV). Last night the words were clear as a bell from my seats in the SEZ.
I understand students will be students but this is taking it a bit too far imo.

However, the CST taping....that's a different story.

Maybe you were drunk back then, unlike myself because I was in Tiger Band at the time. It wasn't a good game if there wasn't at least two fights in the student section.
Let's not forget the "Bama bite my arse" song as well as "Go to hell" cheers with eat shite(ake) mushrooms thrown in for good measure.
How many students were falling down drunk back then? More than I care to think about and you don't see that now. Our parents were a little more "forgiving" because (at least mine) grew up in the depression and my dad fought in WWII.
As someone else said, it's a college game for college students first and foremost. They are going to act like college students so expect that kind of behavior.
BTW, some of the wildest people I knew back then are now rather sedate, with some being preacher's wives and even missionaries. It's life.

Like it or not, it's the blue hairs who donate the most money, and they're the ones that don't want to hear it. I don't mind it at all, but I know a few old farts in my section who stated their intentions on calling the ADs office on Monday.

Oh, I know all about it. As well as the USC suck a f*g cheer. I know plenty, I've been around the block a couple of times. FSU vs. SC used to have plenty of cheers that were vulgar. Can you say the mention of circumcision and the "scalping" penises? some of the worst I've ever heard.
People just don't understand. They live in their little bubble here in the south and think "shite we've got dirty horrible students." They're not more horrible than any other student body. In fact, I'd say it's amazing some people bitch about just ONE cheer here.

believe it or not, I know some of those "blue hairs", and there's another big round of people who throw lots of money around that school that won't let the admin start tampering with every facet of student activity there.

Yes, I was drunk at probably every game. I can remember the student section filled with empty bottles at the end of games. And I can remember a fight or two in the student section. But what happened in the student section stayed in the student section for the most part.
I don't remember any chant from my days as a student being as vulgar or as loud as this. My parents sat in the SEZ (the same seats I have now) and I would have heard about it.
My problem with Neck is that those words are offensive to a lot of people especially families with small children. This is much more than Go to Hell Ole Miss or Kick Their arse. I was particularly uncomfortable last night when the elderly lady behind me asked me what they were saying.

then you do your part and tell her "I don't know". You don't help the problem by spreading it, you contain it. With the advent of the internet, however, word travels fast. Take that into consideration as well.
