RF usually goes to the player with the strongest arm. So I think Mahtook has the strongest arm of the 3. They all 3 could be CF.

watkins is the best fielding outfielder of the 3. that is scary!!!! all 3 could play center......we're going to have a no fly zone in the outfield this year.

Yeah I figured Gaudet would have the upper hand at that position.

Anyone have some info on Wet Delatte? I know he redshirted last season, but Mainieri said he was impressive in the fall and is the current starter at 3B.

delatte is a better hitter than nola IMO. one of the best natural hitters i have seen in high school. bats lefty. can hit to all parts of the park. good body for 3rd. strong arm. was a pitcher who could touch 90 in high school as well.

reminds me a lot of wally pontiff at the plate. that sounds ridiculous i know, but of all the kids i've seen play high school baseball, delatte is one of the better hitters i've seen.

no doubt. the two new kids in the lineup will make a huge impact. watkins and delatte are great ball players. i was actually surprised to see delatte redshirt. thought for sure he could compete with helenihi and get some at bats. sure enough, he's projected as the 3rd baseman. that's where i figured he would end up. has good range for that spot and a very good arm. was an awesome ss in high school.

i'm sure everyone has heard a ton about watkins. kid will probably be in the majors one day. nuff said.

Can someone tell me more about Trey Watkins. I keep up with the baseball team but it seems like I've never heard of him.

i agree. i think nola will improve drastically this year. i also expect him to hit .330 range. and delatte could struggle seeing his first look at college ball, but i would say in high school, which is the only way i can compare them thus far, delatte was a better hitter.

both hustle all over the field.

watkins. short, stocky kid. excellent speed. good contact hitter with some pop. covers a ridiculous amount of ground in the outfield. attended LSU E last year, which makes him a sophomore for us. batted over .400 and had 58 stolen bases. probably one of the most intriguing baseball prospects we have on the squad this year. pretty cocky kid, but awesome baseball player.

whats amazing to me is this is the 4th year in a row that we have a new starting center fielder, each supposedly better than the guy who played there before. We should be sick defensively.

Nola is a 3 year guy and will show it at the plate this year. He'll crack .320 and push double digits in homers.
