Be careful downtown is a DWI trap.

If you like gambling, the L'Auberge Casino is tight.
Restaurants:
1.) Chimes
2.) Sammy's (Their crawfish is the best! Spicy too, so watch out.)
3.) Walk-Ons
4.) George's
5.) Pluckers (Not local, but regional and a good LSU following)
Bars:
1.) Bogies
2.) Fred's
3.) Pelican House (More of a seated bar, but outstanding selection of drinks and fantastic french/creole food)
Things to do on campus:
1.) Tailgate, tailgate, tailgate. The LSU fans will feed you and throw beers your way. Don't be shy to approach a tailgate and tell them you're from UGA. We love hosting visitors and showing them a good time.
2.) See Mike's cage. Nothing crazy, but it's a live tiger in a nice habitat.
3.) Walk through the Quad and down Highland Road. It's really a pretty campus.
4.) Check out the LSU lakes. Very pretty. They have a local "beach" if it's warm enough to hang out.
Make sure you head downtown, too. The bar scene is great, and there's nothing like checking out the Mississippi River in all its glory. The state capital and museum are alright, too. I guess not really a college-thing to do, though.
Here's a map of where campus is:

Although the food isnt great, check out Walk-Ons either pre or post game. It should have a decent atmosphere. But like previous posters have said, Chimes and Parrains are great for food. You have Tigerland or Downtown for your night life. As far as campus goes, check out the Parade Grounds, Indian Mounds, Mikes Cage, Tiger Stadium, PMAC and Huey P Long Pool (cant see much), Quad, Student Union (if open), and drive down sorority row.
ETA: Also you have 3 casinos in town. Lauberge is the nicest but also has the highest table minimums. Hollywood is decent and has $5 tables most days. Then you have the B(H)elle of BR. That place is a crap hole so dont even bother haha Stick to Hollywood for cheap tables or Lauberge if you want to people watch and take in the nicer place.
