Saturday - We want nothing to change in Big10 3-way tie situation
Wisconsin still "wins" the Big 10 by getting the Rose Bowl berth if nothing changes.
Even though it won't happen, we need to be cheering for Michigan to beat Ohio State so Michigan State wins the Big 10 over Wisconsin. Michigan State is too far back in the polls to matter and Wisconsin not winning the Big 10 would put them in the same spot as LSU and I think LSU would favor with that.

I'm with ya there, never even considered Michigan State winning the big10, but yes, you are definitely correct. If Michigan State wins the Big10, that definitely solves whatever Big10 problem LSU might face if the other dominoes fall.
I just don't think we want Wisconsin or Ohio State winning the Big10 outright, I think that could end up coming into play if either one did.

A nice win over Arky
Nothing to date this season remotely suggests anything resembling a "nice win over Arky.." The team has too much Keystone Cops in it.

Auburn doesn't have to lose twice either. I don't see them falling only one or two spots after a loss to South Carolina. That takes the "SEC Champion" trump card away. Even though obviously Auburn wins head to head, LSU still would have the better loss, the better non-conference schedule, and a four-game winning streak.
It might be good if both Boise St. and TCU stay alive, because they could take votes away from one another.

The nice win over Mississippi St., in retrospect, but when is the last time an Arkansas game came easily?
(That was rhetorical, but the answer is 2004.)

Here is something that might be of intrest to all on this thread. Especialy if we are to make it to the BCS NCG. I have found the official statement of vacated wins vs forfeiture of wins so here is the link and the quote for those intrested in them.
LINK
To record a forfeit, the wins of the penalized team must be changed to losses, and the losses of its opponent must be changed to wins. This affects season records, all-time records and coaches' records, and should be changed whenever and wherever these records are referred. Except for any student-athletes declared ineligible, the individual statistics are not affected by this action. Example: If Team A was 18-10 for the season but has to forfeit five wins, then Team A's record would now stand at 13-15 for the season and the won-lost records for each of the opposing teams affected also would be changed.
About one third to half way down the page.
LINK
So that means that if LSU beats The Hogs LSU's record would be 12-0 and The Hogs would be 10-2 end of story. LSU wins SEC West and goes to Atlanta.

Forfeits and Vacancies
For many years when issuing penalties to a school, the Committee on Infractions handed out forfeits for regular season games and vacancies for NCAA tournament games. Now, usually the Committee vacates both NCAA tournament games and regular season victories. The only time NCAA statisticians change an official record is when the case is ruled on by the Committee on Infractions.
To record vacancies for NCAA tournament games, the wins and losses of the penalized team are dropped from its overall record and treated as if no games had been played. To record vacancies for regular season contests, the wins but not the losses of the penalized team are dropped from its overall record. This affects season records, all-time records and coaches' records. Example: If Team A was 18-10 for the season but has to vacate four wins and a loss, then Team A's record would now stand at 14-9 for the season. All records that are changed should be asterisked with the footnote stating something to the effect of “Later vacated by NCAA action.”
The won-lost records for each of the opposing teams are not changed when games are vacated. Except for any student-athletes declared ineligible, the individual statistics and the opponents' records are not affected by this action. Since the team’s participation in the NCAA tournament is vacated, any team or individuals receiving NCAA tournament honors, such as being named to the All-Tournament Team or a tournament record, shall be asterisked with the footnote stating “Later vacated.”
To record a forfeit, the wins of the penalized team must be changed to losses, and the losses of its opponent must be changed to wins. This affects season records, all-time records and coaches' records, and should be changed whenever and wherever these records are referred. Example: If Team A was 18-10 for the season but has to forfeit five wins, then Team A's record would now stand at 13-15 for the season and the won-lost records for each of the opposing teams affected also would be changed.
Individual records and performances of other players (teammates and opponents) who participated in these contests shall not be altered except for those players who were declared ineligible.
Only when forfeits and vacancies are declared by the NCAA Committee on Infractions will the official record for schools be reversed. Games later forfeited due to post-game administrative actions but not declared by the Committee on Infractions do not alter any NCAA statistics and/or records. It is suggested schools and conferences denote such games by using an asterisk and a footnote, but continue to list the actual contest results.

I, for one, would enjoy a blow out by the Tigers @ Arky...good for the soul.

Yeah, I'm obviously assuming in my OP that nothing comes of the Auburn Cam situation during the season.
No question, if something was to break on that story this week or next, then that changes everything.

It can be done. Pittsburgh was 28 point underdogs when they beat WVU to send LSU skyrocketing towards the top of the polls. First team to win BCS with 2 losses and now first team to win BCS without winning their conference. The Hat continues to amaze.

Damn Crimson Tide...screwed up all our plans.
Oh well...Beat the Hogs and let the cards fall where they may! I'd be absolutely ecstatic about an 11-1 LSU 2010 campaign.
